The low-cost Avelo Airlines is back with some big news. It is significantly expanding operations from Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport (LAL), plus adding a new route to Salt Lake City (SLC).

Avelo Continues Expansion Across U.S.

Avelo Airlines announced on October 24 that it would make Lakeland International Airport (LAL) its sixth crew base. The move will see 4 new routes from the city: Charlotte/Concord (USA), Manchester (MHT), Rochester (ROC), and San Juan (SJU). The airline says it is the only carrier offering nonstop service for these routes. The new routes will launch this week.

The budget airline has also announced a new, nonstop service from Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS) to Salt Lake City (SLC). Like the new Florida routes, Avelo also began nonstop flights between Sonoma County wine area and Salt Lake City. Service began today from Salt Lake City, and this is Avelo’s ninth nonstop flight from STS; it also serves California, Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada.

“We are excited to continue growth at our Bay Area base at STS with our inaugural flight to Salt Lake City this morning,” said Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy. “As we add more destinations in Sonoma County, we are committed to bringing more convenient, reliable and affordable travel options to the region.”

Avelo typically offers promo fares to celebrate its new routes, and today is no exception. The airline is offering fares starting at just $41 one-way from STS and $46 from LAL.
