We’ve all heard the rumblings about the Alila Ventana Big Sur — the idyllic, all-inclusive resort nestled along California’s famous Pacific coastline.

We’ve also heard about how hard it is to get award rooms at this property. That’s why you should act fast; we’ve found rare availability in 2025 and 2026 for both standard rooms and standard suites.

Rare Award Availability

There isn’t a whole lot of choice when it comes to all-inclusive chain properties within the U.S. Unless you’re looking for health-oriented options such as Miraval, your options are extremely limited when redeeming World of Hyatt points. The Alila Ventana Big Sur is an exception to this; although alcohol isn’t included with your booking, basically everything else is.

Historically, finding standard room rewards at this hotel has been difficult. It’s a highly desirable property, especially since you can use your Suite Upgrade Awards (SUAs) to nab yourself a suite.

Currently, however, we’re seeing award availability from December 2025 through February 2026. This is true for standard room awards, standard suites, and even premium suites for stays of 2 nights or more.

Your best bet for finding standard award availability is using Rooms.aero and setting your minimum night search to 2 nights. This allows you to find standard rooms and suites — but be aware that availability is cached and may not be accurate unless you force an update (by setting an alert).

Another popular tool is MaxMyPoint. It’s updated more often and is great for Globalists with Suite Upgrade Awards to use since they can redeem an SUA award while booking, even when standard room rewards aren’t available.

Final Thoughts

The Alila Ventana Big Sur is a highly desirable property, and we do not often see award availability for multiple dates. If you’re interested, run — don’t walk — to get yourself a booking.
