Update:

The Andaz 5th Avenue was arguably the crown jewel of World of Hyatt properties in New York City, even before the Park Hyatt New York and the Thompson Central Park New York came along — and honestly, some Hyatt loyalists would probably still make that argument today.

With oversized rooms by New York City standards, an unbeatable Midtown location directly across from Bryant Park and the New York Public Library, and a more boutique luxury feel than many larger chain hotels in Manhattan, the Andaz has long been one of Hyatt’s most sought-after redemptions in the city.

Unfortunately, booking this iconic Hyatt property with points is about to get a lot more expensive. Thankfully, we’re still seeing plenty of award availability before the changes kick in.

Book the Andaz 5th Avenue With Points

Starting May 20, Andaz 5th Avenue will move from a Category 7 to a Category 8 World of Hyatt property as part of Hyatt’s upcoming award chart changes.

That means award pricing at this popular Manhattan hotel will jump from the current 25,000-35,000 nightly points cost to a new range of 35,000 to as high as 75,000 points per night during peak travel periods.

Luckily, there’s still time to lock in the current lower award pricing before rates jump significantly after May 20. Right now, we’re seeing widespread award availability starting at 30,000 points per night throughout much of this summer, along with off-peak winter availability next year for as low as 25,000 points per night.

That’s an excellent value for one of Hyatt’s most expensive New York City properties. Cash rates here regularly climb above $600 per night — and often much higher during peak travel periods.

How To Find Award Availability

We recommend using MaxMyPoint‘s handy calendar tool, which helped us find loads of available nights from this summer through March 2027.

Once May 20 arrives, Andaz 5th Avenue will officially become a Category 8 property, with award nights jumping to at least 35,000 points per night and potentially as high as 75,000 points on peak dates. That makes now the best time to redeem Hyatt points to unlock lower pricing for a stay here.

Final Thoughts

Starting May 20, Andaz 5th Avenue award nights could cost as much as 75,000 points per night during peak travel periods. That’s because the property is moving up to Category 8, and Hyatt is changing its award chart from 3 to 5 pricing tiers.

If this hotel has been on your Hyatt wishlist, now is the time to lock in award nights while rates still top out at just 35,000 points per night.
