If the sights and sounds of Denmark are calling your name, we’re seeing solid award availability to get there in business class without breaking the bank.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) business class is showing up to 5 award seats per flight on numerous dates from late summer through fall. And at just 60,000 points per person in business class, availability for 5 people means you can take the whole crew across the Atlantic in a lie-flat seat.

Here’s a closer look at the awards we’ve found.

Award Deal — Details

With this deal, you’ll fly on Scandinavian Airlines (commonly known as SAS), but you’ll book your flights with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points. Depending on where you’re located in the U.S., you’ll pay 60,000 to 85,000 points per person.

  • Class: Business
  • Booking program: Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
  • Airline: SAS
  • Route: Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), New York-Kennedy (JFK), Newark (EWR), and Seattle (SEA) to Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH)
  • Cost: From 60,000 points plus $5.60 in taxes and fees
  • Travel dates: August to October 2025
  • Award seats: Up to 5 seats per route

With availability for up to 5 passengers per flight in business class, getting your family over the ocean in comfort at a great price is definitely possible. However, flights are available from 20,500 points per person in economy (up to 5 award seats per route) if you’re looking for a cheaper option.

You can check a tool like Seats.aero to see numerous dates and routes at once, then head to Virgin’s website to book once you’ve found something you like.

How To Book

Your best bet is redeeming Virgin Points for these flights. You’ll pay 60,000 points plus $5.60 per person from the East Coast, such as this flight to Copenhagen from Newark (EWR):

Flying from the West Coast, you’ll pay 85,000 points one-way, such as this flight from Los Angeles (LAX):

Earning Virgin Points is pretty easy, thanks to Flying Club’s abundant transfer partners. You can make 1:1 transfers to Virgin Atlantic from Amex Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou Rewards, and Wells Fargo Rewards, plus 3:1 transfers from Marriott Bonvoy. Capital One miles transfer to Virgin Red, which then can be moved to Virgin Atlantic after pairing your accounts.

Since SAS is a member of the SkyTeam alliance, you can also use programs like Flying Blue and SkyMiles to book these awards if you have a stash of those. Another option is booking these awards using 80,000 Etihad Guest miles.

Hot Tip:

Our free transfer partner calculator is an excellent tool for discovering where you can use your points and miles.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking to cross the Atlantic in comfort, there’s solid availability with Scandinavian Airlines from now through October. Rather than spending a fortune, you can book these flights with Virgin Points.

Even if Copenhagen isn’t your intended destination, this could be a great opportunity to check out SAS business class and then connect to other parts of Europe, thanks to abundant options for low-cost trains and flights.
