Update:

If Egypt has been on your travel bucket list — or you’re looking for an easy way to reach destinations across Africa — this deal is worth a look.

EgyptAir has opened up excellent business class award availability from several North American cities to Cairo. While a few partner programs offer lower mileage rates, Air Canada Aeroplan is likely the easiest way for many travelers to book, with awards starting at 70,000 points each way.

Even better, some dates have up to 4 seats available, making this a solid option for couples or families traveling together. Let’s take a look.

EgyptAir Business Class Award Alert — The Details

We’re seeing wide-open award availability in EgyptAir business class from North America to Cairo (CAI) for travel between December 2026 and April 2027, an opportunity first flagged by Straight To The Points.

Available departure cities include Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Toronto (YYZ), and Washington, D.C. (IAD).

  • Class: Business
  • Program: Air Canada Aeroplan
  • Routes: Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Toronto (YYZ), and Washington, D.C. (IAD) to Cairo (CAI)
  • Cost: Starting at 70,000 Aeroplan points plus $31 in taxes and fees
  • Travel dates: December 2026 through April 2027
  • Award seats: 2 seats on most dates, with up to 4 seats available on select flights

The best deals are from Newark, New York, Toronto, and Washington, D.C., which price at 70,000 Aeroplan points each way. Flights from Los Angeles and Chicago are slightly higher at 90,000 points each way.

While EgyptAir won’t win any awards for exceptional service, luxury cabins, or over-the-top catering, the airline can still be a very practical way to reach Egypt and connect onward to destinations throughout Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa.

For the best onboard experience, try to book flights operated by the carrier’s Boeing 787-9 or new Airbus A350 aircraft, which feature modern 1-2-1 lie-flat seats with direct aisle access. The new A350 is especially appealing on the Los Angeles route. You’ll want to avoid any flights operated by the older Boeing 777-300ER, which features outdated angled-flat seats in a cramped 2-3-2 configuration.

Taxes and fees are also fairly reasonable on these awards, starting at around $31 one-way from the U.S.

How To Book

Your best bet for booking these flights is through Air Canada Aeroplan, which offers some of the easiest access to EgyptAir award space.

Aeroplan is also one of the most accessible airline programs for U.S. travelers since you can transfer points from American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One Miles, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Marriott Bonvoy.

Other programs that can book these flights include ANA Mileage Club, EVA Air Infinity MileageLands, and Avianca LifeMiles, though Aeroplan will likely be the simplest option for most travelers.

You can search for availability directly on Air Canada’s website or use a tool like Seats.aero to quickly scan multiple dates and routes.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been hoping to visit Egypt or explore more of Africa using points and miles, this award alert is worth a look.

While EgyptAir’s premium experience isn’t especially luxurious, the airline is offering excellent business class award availability, low taxes and fees, and up to 4 seats on some flights — making this a great opportunity for families or groups looking to book lie-flat seats to Cairo with transferable points.
