Finding business class award seats to New Zealand is nearly impossible, especially since so few airlines operate these flights.

Fortunately for you, we just found a bunch of last-minute seats in business class, flying either American Airlines, Air New Zealand, Qantas, or United Airlines, starting as low as 65,000 miles.

Let’s take a look at the details.

Award Deal — Details

The easiest way to find these flights is by searching on seats.aero. Searching from the U.S. to Auckland, New Zealand, will bring up a long list of options, even when using the free version.

Once you find a route and price you like, click on the flight details to see your booking options.

When using seats.aero, you can sort by date and award rate to find the least expensive business class option. The first result will likely be an American Airlines-operated flight for 65,000 miles.

This is a great deal, but there are other options if you don’t have AAdvantage miles readily available.

When you book via Air Canada’s Aeroplan loyalty program, you can fly Air New Zealand or United Polaris business class for just 75,000 points. We’re seeing up to 4 seats available for these flights.

Alternatively, for another 10,000 miles, you could fly Qantas all the way from New York (JFK) to Auckland in business class at a cost of 85,000 miles, when you book via Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.

No matter which option you choose, being able to fly comfortably in a lie-flat seat on this long of a flight will be well worth it.

How To Book

Since American Airlines doesn’t have any transfer partners, the easiest option for booking will be Air New Zealand or United with Aeroplan. Aeroplan accepts points transfers from American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One miles, and Chase Ultimate Rewards. It also accepts transfers from Marriott Bonvoy at a 3:1 ratio, though those can take a few days.

Or, if you have some extra Amex points, you can transfer them to Hawaiian Airlines and then convert them to Alaska miles to book the Qantas flight.

Hot Tip:

Check where you can transfer your points using our free transfer partner calculator!

Final Thoughts

This is a rare deal to fly in style to New Zealand, not only for the price and availability, but also for the number of airlines and routes to choose from.

If you’ve been searching for flights down under, you’ll want to act quickly to book these award flights!
