This week, BermudAir finished its ambitious project of creating a New York City triangle, offering flights to Bermuda from LaGuardia, Newark, and Westchester.

Next month, its new subsidiary, AnguillAir, will begin operating flights to Anguilla from 3 cities on the East Coast. If that already seems like the carrier is expanding rapidly, Adam Scott, the airline’s CEO, is even more excited about next year and what it should bring.

What comes next for a startup airline that’s already added numerous routes and a second airline operating under the same certificate? We sat down with the CEO to find out what’s next.

A Brief Overview of BermudAir

BermudAir started flying in late summer 2023, launching services from Rhode Island, Virginia, and Montréal. The airline operates a fleet of Embraer E175 and E190 aircraft.

In the 2 years since its first flight, BermudAir has been extremely busy. It has added more routes several times along the way, becoming the first airline to accept crypto as a payment method and even running a promotion for free flights to Bermuda if you book a vacation package.

Now, the airline has finished launching flights from 3 airports in the NYC area, entering service in the past few days.

BermudAir also announced a partnership with Amadeus Global Distribution System (often referred to as simply “Amadeus”) on October 30. This allows the airline to sell flights through travel agents and Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), such as Expedia.

Coming up in December 2025, BermudAir will start operating flights to Anguilla (AXA airport) under the moniker AnguillAir — though the 2 airlines will fly using 1 operating certificate. These flights will commence the week of December 17 and begin service from Baltimore (BWI), Boston (BOS), and Newark (EWR).

More Flights (and Maybe Another Subsidiary) Are in the Works

I sat down with BermudAir’s CEO, Adam Scott, to discuss what comes next for the young airline. After launching all of these routes, is he satisfied so far? And at what point does an airline evaluate a route to see if it’s performing well?

For him, being satisfied doesn’t mean there isn’t an opportunity to do more. “I’m definitely happy so far,” he said. “But…” — there’s always a “but.”

After launching AnguillAir flights in December, Scott thinks his team will give the new routes a few months to see how they’re performing and then look at whether any changes are needed — or what might make sense for further expansion by offering flights from additional cities.

“Luckily, the seasons don’t compete with each other,” Scott said, referring to the peak tourism periods for Bermuda and Anguilla. “So it’s not like we are stealing passengers from Bermuda and flying them to Anguilla,” he continued, explaining that the airline is actually gaining new travelers — not just shifting demand between destinations.

Plus, he says the data tells an encouraging story: loyalty is already building, and some flyers who’ve never been to Anguilla before are now considering a trip “because they like flying with us.” And that will help as the airline expands to more locations, he said.

“And as we look at the islands” — I had to interrupt when I heard “islands” with an “s” when discussing potential expansion. Does this mean the airline might start flying to more destinations?

“It’s a definite possibility,” Scott chuckled. He wouldn’t confirm which Caribbean locations might receive flights in the future or when it might happen, but it’s under consideration.

Airline Partnerships Are Becoming Essential

So far, BermudAir and Anguillair have focused exclusively on East Coast cities. What about passengers who want to visit these island nations but live in Las Vegas or Los Angeles — or even Chicago?

“This is our next phase,” Scott said. He readily admitted that passengers, presently, would need to book 1 flight to get from the West Coast to the East Coast and then another ticket to fly with BermudAir or AnguillAir. That could be a discouraging factor, as other airlines could sell these passengers 1 ticket that doesn’t require claiming their bags, doing a new check-in, and clearing security again.

“We are looking for partners, whether it’s interline or codeshare,” Scott said — agreements that would allow for these 1-stop itineraries without requiring passengers to check in again. Eliminating that friction, he added, will be key to attracting travelers from cities BermudAir doesn’t currently serve directly.

He wouldn’t confirm — or even hint at — who these partners might be until the signatures are on the agreements.

Expect a Loyalty Program in Early 2026

While discussing BermudAir’s 2026 plans, Scott said we should expect to see a loyalty program in the first quarter — meaning sometime between January and March.

What we see at launch, however, may not be the final form of this program. “We want to start off with something that’s nice and simple but very rewarding and useful for our passengers,” Scott said, adding that launching the program with a solid foundation is what matters most.

He originally wanted to launch the program sooner, but it’s been delayed because the team “wants to make sure we get the right foundation to help it grow.”

In a crowded rewards landscape, what will this program look like: something entirely unique or something more similar to what other airlines are doing?

“We want to do something that suits our unique market without being too unlike other programs,” Scott said. Being overly unfamiliar, he explained, can turn people away — and the goal is to build something approachable from day one.

Final Thoughts

BermudAir has had a busy past 2 years since beginning service. December will be even busier, as the airline launches its new subsidiary, AnguillAir, with flights from 3 East Coast cities to Anguilla.

And if that seems like a lot, Scott tells us 2026 is shaping up to be even more involved. We can expect a loyalty program soon, as airline partnerships are in the works, and we may even see this model deployed to additional islands in the Caribbean.

One thing’s for sure: We’ll be keeping an eye on what BermudAir has up its sleeve as the young airline continues to grow.
