Singapore is celebrating its 60th anniversary of independence. In response, the national carrier is teasing bigger discounts than ever in its already-amazing Spontaneous Escapes this month.

Rather than saving 30% on award bookings this month, you’ll be able to save 40% — an incredible deal.

Here’s what you should know to get ready for this exciting offer.

What Is Spontaneous Escapes?

Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer program offers a recurring monthly promotion called Spontaneous Escapes. The “Spontaneous” in the name alludes to the fact that you’ll need to be prepared to book short-notice travel to get these savings.

Each month, Singapore Airlines publishes a list of routes and discounted award booking prices. Typically, these offer 30% off the number of miles you need to book a flight and can include everything from economy to business class. Unfortunately, Singapore Airlines’ famous first class isn’t included in the discounts.

You’ll also find some blackout dates with these offers.

Once the month’s list is released, you have until the end of that month to book flights happening in the following month. Thus, for this month, we’ll see a list of offers that require you to book by August 31, and the discounts should apply to award flights booked for travel in September 2025.

Scoring a Better Discount This Month

This month, Singapore Airlines will release the Spontaneous Escapes list on August 15. The KrisFlyer Instagram account is teasing a 40% discount on this month’s awards when they launch — but only for 60 hours. That’s just 2.5 days.

Therefore, when the discount goes live on August 15, you should be ready to book within the next 2 days to score some savings. Doing so means you’ll save an extra 10% on the amount of miles required to book a ticket.

Awards booked during the promotional offer can’t be changed or canceled, so be sure that your travel plans are firm before reserving.

Bottom Line:

If the deals align with your travel plans, be ready to book this month’s Spontaneous Escapes on August 15, 16, or 17 to score a 40% discount — rather than the typical 30% off. Just remember that these awards can’t be changed or canceled.

Final Thoughts

Singapore is celebrating its 60th anniversary of independence, so Singapore Airlines is boosting its already incredible Spontaneous Escapes this month. For 60 hours, you’ll be able to get an extra 10% discount on these awards, providing a 40% reduction in how many miles you need.

Be ready to book starting on August 15 to enjoy the extra savings.
