It’s a great day to be a Bilt Rewards member.

A new partnership between Bilt Rewards and Japan Airlines (JAL) means Bilt Rewards members can now transfer their points to Mileage Bank — the Japanese airline’s frequent flyer program.

Let’s take a look at the details of this exciting development.

You Can Now Transfer Bilt Rewards to Japan Airlines

We knew this transfer was coming, as Bilt accidentally showed transfers to Japan Airlines for a few hours last month. Now, it’s official.

As of 9 a.m ET on Tuesday, May 13, Bilt Rewards members can transfer their points to JAL’s Mileage Bank (JMB). As such, Bilt now has 16 airline transfer partners.

At a rate of 1:1, Bilt will offer the best transfer rate to JAL’s Mileage Bank in the world of points and miles in North America.

In fact, the only other option for transferring points directly to JMB is from a Marriott Bonvoy account at an unfavorable rate of 3:1.

JMB usually requires having an account open for at least 60 days before you can redeem miles. However, given that many Bilt Rewards members are unlikely to already have an active JMB account, Bilt has negotiated with JMB for members to be able to redeem their transferred miles within 7 days, which is a nice touch.

Thus, we recommend all current Bilt Rewards members open a JMB account at their earliest convenience so that it’s ready to use for any future Japan Airlines redemptions.

Hot Tip:

Bilt Rewards, which launched in 2021, is the only rewards program in the U.S. that allows its members to earn points for paying their rent without any administrative or processing fees. The program also offers the Bilt Mastercard, which will help you earn even more Bilt Rewards points (Note: You must use the card 5 times each statement period to earn points).

Redeem Points for JAL’s New First and Business Classes

Bilt’s timing couldn’t be more perfect. Last year, JAL launched its show-stopping new first class and business class, exclusive to its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

Thanks to Bilt’s new partnership with JMB, you could experience this incredible way to fly for less. Even if you’ve got no plans to fly JAL or take a trip to Japan, there are lots of other great ways to redeem Japan Airlines miles.

Final Thoughts

Bilt Rewards has made the most of a gap in the market by championing this new partnership with Japan Airlines.

For those wishing to travel to Japan or try out the airline’s stunning new business- and first-class products, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
