Bilt recently announced its new lineup of credit cards, with different benefits across the 3 new cards. As more details have come out, some differences have emerged between the benefits previously listed and those that appear in the cards’ official Guides to Benefits.

Let’s go over which benefits are different and what that means for cardholders.

Here’s Where Some Bilt Card Benefits Don’t Match Up

As first reported by Frequent Miler, there are inconsistencies between the benefit details Bilt previously shared and those that appear in the official Guide to Benefits for some of its new cards. That matters, since the guide ultimately governs the benefits, perks, and coverage you’ll ultimately have.

Let’s start with the no-annual-fee Bilt Blue Card (rates & fees). Information previously provided about its World Elite Mastercard perks indicated that cardholders would receive:

  • No foreign transaction fees (rates & fees)
  • Cellular Wireless Telephone Protection*
  • Purchase Assurance*
  • MasterRental Coverage*
  • Trip Cancellation and Interruption Protection*
  • Trip Delay Reimbursement*

However, the current Guide to Benefits for the Bilt Blue card does not list Trip Cancellation and Interruption Protection or Trip Delay Reimbursement. While those protections are common on many travel credit cards, they don’t appear to be part of the Bilt Blue card’s official benefit package.

On the flip side, the $95 annual fee Bilt Obsidian Card (rates & fees) seems to have the opposite issue. Earlier materials suggested it didn’t include Lost or Damaged Luggage Insurance.* But the Bilt Obsidian card’s Guide to Benefits shows that this coverage is included.

Frequent Miler contacted Bilt for clarification, and Bilt confirmed that the Guides to Benefits are correctmeaning the earlier-shared materials were inaccurate.

Even though these perks probably weren’t the main reason you chose one of the new Bilt cards in the first place, details like this still matter. When it comes to things like trip delays or lost luggage, coverage usually comes down to what’s written in the official benefits guide. If a benefit isn’t actually included, that could mean the difference between getting reimbursed and having a claim denied — so it’s always worth knowing exactly what your card does and doesn’t cover.

Hot Tip:

When comparing cards, always check the official Guide to Benefits — not just marketing bullet points — since that document controls what’s actually covered if something goes wrong.

Final Thoughts

This looks like growing pains during a major card rollout rather than a sweeping benefit change. Still, it’s a good reminder to double-check your specific card’s protections so you’re not counting on coverage that isn’t there.

*A maximum benefit amount and certain restrictions and limitations apply. Please review the Bilt Blue Card Mastercard Guide to Benefits and Bilt Obsidian Card Mastercard Guide to Benefits for details.
