At the start of this year, Hilton announced a first-of-its-kind relationship with AutoCamp. This outdoor-focused hospitality company aims to provide boutique lodging experiences among incredible natural landscapes.

Now, the relationship has taken a huge step forward, as you can now book AutoCamp properties through Hilton’s direct channels — and elite members can even look forward to on-property perks.

Let’s take a look at all the details!

Operational AutoCamp Properties Now Bookable Through Hilton

A few weeks ago, Hilton rolled out direct-channel booking for AutoCamp Cape Cod and promised that the rest of the properties in the portfolio would be bookable through its channels shortly thereafter.

Sure enough, as of today, June 3, 2024, all open and operational AutoCamp properties can be booked via Hilton’s AutoCamp landing page and the Hilton Honors mobile app (iOS, Android).

It can be a great deal, too — standard awards cost around 70,000 points per night during the peak summer season for a Luxury Tent or an Airstream Suite at this property.

Considering that the cash price is roughly $525 per night (including taxes and fees), you’re getting 0.75 cents in value when redeeming Hilton Honors points. That’s well above our valuations of Hilton Honors points, which we approximate to be worth 0.5 cents each.

Earnings and Elite Status at AutoCamp Properties

While Hilton works to complete the integration of AutoCamp properties into its systems, Hilton Honors members will not be able to earn Hilton Honors points for ancillary purchases made at AutoCamp properties.

To compensate, Hilton is offering members 1,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for each stay completed by August 12, 2024. Members won’t have to wait too long to earn points for on-property purchases, though, as Hilton says this feature will be rolled out “in the coming weeks.”

If you have Hilton Honors elite status, you can expect some perks at AutoCamp properties, though they vary from what you’re entitled to at more typical Hilton properties:

  • Hilton Honors Silver: 2 eco-friendly water bottles
  • Hilton Honors Gold: 1 bundle of firewood per stay, 2 eco-friendly water bottles, and a room upgrade (subject to availability)
  • Hilton Honors Diamond: 1 bundle of firewood per stay, 1 s’mores kit per stay, 2 eco-friendly water bottles, and a room upgrade (subject to availability)

Final Thoughts

Hilton’s partnership with AutoCamp is certainly unique, showing that the brand is eager to capture new market segments. Younger travelers are keen on experiential travel and exploring our nation’s wide-open spaces, so it’s entirely likely that Hilton is onto something.

Nevertheless, we’re excited to see how this experiment works out. Now that even more AutoCamp properties are bookable with points, we suspect that they’ll only grow in popularity.
