Sarasota, a popular city on the Gulf Coast of Southwest Florida, is set to become Breeze Airways’ 12th base. Additionally, the low-cost carrier plans to quickly expand its new base, introducing 6 new routes to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ).

Here’s what you need to know.

Breeze Airways Establishes Sarasota Base

In 2023, Sarasota received a record 3.1 million visitors. The Sarasota area continues to thrive with tourism, thanks largely to its pleasant year-round weather, lively arts scene, and some of the best beaches in the U.S. One standout is Siesta Key Beach, known for its soft, white sand and sparkling clear water.

With such high travel demand to Florida, the low-cost carrier has chosen Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport as its new base city, making it the airline’s 12th in the U.S.

Breeze Airways continues to itself in the Sunshine State following its announcement earlier this year that Vero Beach, Florida (on the Atlantic side of the state), would be assigned as the low-cost carrier’s 10th base.

Sarasota will be Breeze’s fifth base in Florida alone, adding to its existing roster of bases in Fort Myers (RSW), Orlando (MCO), Tampa (TPA), and Vero Beach (VRB).

6 New Routes From Sarasota

The announcement of a new base in Florida brings new routes designed to kickstart service from the base:

Breeze Airways is steadily expanding its route network to and from Florida. The latest expansion involves establishing a base of operations in Sarasota, marking the airline’s fifth base in the Sunshine State.
