Through December 5, 2024, at 6:59 p.m. ET, you can buy TAP Portugal Miles&Go miles with a 100% bonus. This promotion offers double miles on all transactions, meaning you’ll get a 100% bonus whether you buy 2,000 (the minimum) or 20,000 miles (the maximum).

The maximum purchase amount during this sale is 20,000 miles per transaction, which turns into 40,000 after the bonus. You’ll pay $870 for these miles, bringing the price down to 2.175 cents per mile.

Purchases aren’t refundable, and you can purchase a maximum of 200,000 miles annually from TAP Miles&Go. Note that these miles are valid for 12 months, though you can extend their validity to up to 3 years with qualifying activity in your account.

It’s worth noting that TAP Portugal uses a poor exchange rate from euros to dollars. If you can purchase in Euros, you should. After adjusting your account settings to a country in Europe, you may be able to pay 700€ for the 40,000-mile offer. That’s a purchase price of roughly $734.66 or 1.84 cents per mile. That’s over a 15% discount off the price in dollars.

TAP Portugal doesn’t sell its miles directly, which means the purchase won’t count as airfare on your credit card. Is It Worth It?

Numerous programs sell points and miles, and there are multiple promotions available to buy points right now. But buying something on sale doesn’t make it cheaper than simply not making a purchase.

Buying points and miles doesn’t always make sense, even if there’s a deal. Earning TAP miles from TAP’s credit card welcome bonuses and daily spending is usually a better option.
