The ultra-luxury South of France region now has another high-end hotel, as Hilton debuts its Canopy by Hilton brand in Cannes.

Here’s what you need to know.

Canopy by Hilton Cannes Has Nearly 130 Rooms

Canopy by Hilton Cannes has 129 guest rooms and suites and 12 apartments.

Amenities include an indoor-outdoor heated swimming pool with sea views and a fitness center. The spa (which isn’t open yet) will have 5 cabins, a hammam, a Japanese bath, and a sauna.

Guests have access to a rooftop restaurant, a cocktail bar, and a “brunch club” on the first floor.

In announcing the opening, Hilton noted that it was drawn to open a Canopy by Hilton hotel in Cannes, which attracts millions of visitors yearly through its film festival.

“Celebrating the best of the city, the opening of Canopy by Hilton Cannes is an exciting milestone for both the brand and Hilton,” said Matt Schuyler, Hilton’s Chief Brand Officer. “Embodying the spirit of the French Riviera, the property’s design, exquisite dining and bespoke amenities are a testament to the Canopy by Hilton brand.”

Canopy by Hilton hotels are typically boutique properties focusing on sophisticated designs and bespoke food and beverage offerings. Today, you’ll find nearly 40 open properties worldwide, with more than 30 in the pipeline.

Booking Canopy by Hilton Cannes With Points

Canopy by Hilton Cannes is now open for guests and is participating in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, which means you’ll be able to earn and redeem Hilton Honors points at the hotel.

Rates are reasonably priced during the low season, and you’ll award nights as low as 43,000 points per night. Unfortunately, we’re not seeing any award availability during the month of May, which is when the Cannes Film Festival takes place. If you’re planning to go to the festival, make sure you frequently check Hilton’s website for any award openings.

That said, you should still plan to amass Hilton Honors points if award space opens up.

Like many hotel chains, Hilton no longer uses an award chart. Instead, the chain has adopted variable award pricing, which means award nights can be cheaper or more expensive, depending on when you travel. Hilton Honors points are among the easiest points you can earn. Several Hilton co-branded credit cards are available, offering sizable welcome bonuses and some form of elite status.

Bottom Line:

Hilton Honors members can also transfer points from American Express, ride with Lyft, or dine with Hilton Honors Dining to earn more points.

Final Thoughts

Hilton Honors loyalists now have another luxury hotel to earn and redeem points in Cannes. While we don’t see any award availability during the film festival, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any in the future — so make sure to stock up on Hilton Honors points in the meantime!
