Today only, Capital One Shopping is offering some targeted members up to 65% back on select Tripadvisor bookings. However, the rate you see depends on how you access Capital One Shopping, with some members seeing higher cash-back rates through targeted emails.

The best targeted offer rewards Capital One Shopping members with 25.5% cash-back on hotel reservations and 65% back on activities. As a reminder, anyone can sign up for Capital One Shopping even if they don’t have a Capital One credit card or bank account. Cash-back can be redeemed for merchant gift cards.

Let’s look at this targeted Capital One Shopping promotion and whether it’s a good deal.

Tripadvisor Overview

Tripadvisor is best known for its hotel and restaurant reviews, but the website also allows you to book hotels and activities. Like most third-party hotel bookings, hotels booked through Tripadvisor are not eligible to earn hotel points, but they can be worth considering with cash-back promotions or when staying at a boutique property outside your preferred chain.

Regardless, you should compare the cost of booking hotels and activities through Tripadvisor with the cost of booking them directly.

Get up to 65% Cash-Back on Tripadvisor Bookings With Capital One Shopping

Capital One Shopping is running a targeted Tripadvisor promotion that offers targeted members up to 65% back on activities and 25.5% back on hotel bookings, as reported by Frequent Miler. That said, your rate may vary and could depend on how you access Tripadvisor’s page on Capital One Shopping. Likewise, these bonus rates end after today, November 4, 2025.

For example, when I load the Tripadvisor page on the Capital One Shopping browser extension, I’m offered 45% back on activities and 17.5% back on hotel bookings, up to $250. Meanwhile, accessing the Tripadvisor page through an email from Capital One Shopping yielded a higher 65% back on activities and 25.5% back on hotels.

Capital One Offers — a different cash-back program — is also offering bonus cash-back on Tripadvisor bookings today. This program is only available to those with a Capital One credit card, and if you have a card that earns Capital One miles, you’ll earn miles instead of cash-back.

I am targeted for 30% back on Tripadvisor activities and 11% back on hotel stays through Capital One Offers. Given this is paid out in Capital One mileswhich we value at 1.8 cents each — the Capital One Offer provides a better return than my targeted Capital One Shopping offer (65% and 25.5% return on spending versus a 54% and 19% return via miles).
