Booking a vacation home just got more rewarding with Capital One.

Today, the issuer has vastly improved the Capital One Travel portal by adding vacation rentals to its platform. Eligible Capital One cardholders can earn 5x miles on these bookings — making these travel credit cards easily some of the best cards for booking vacation homes.

Let’s take a look at the newest development and see how you can maximize your rewards on Capital One Travel.

You Can Now Book Vacation Rentals Through Capital One Travel

Capital One has added vacation rentals to its travel booking platform as part of its Premier and Lifestyle Collections. For now, it appears that these vacation homes are only available in the U.S. and Caribbean.

With the Capital One Venture X card and Capital One Venture X Business card, you can even use the $300 annual travel credit toward vacation rentals booked through the Capital One travel portal.

But wait, there’s more. Some of these travel credit cards also offer ongoing statement credits for eligible properties:

  • Capital One Venture card: $50 experience credit for Lifestyle Collection properties, including vacation rentals
  • Capital One Venture X card and Capital One Venture X Business card: $100 experience credit for Premier or Lifestyle Collection properties, including vacation rentals

Capital One says this $50 experience credit can be used “during vacation rental stays toward things like in-home chef meals, fridge stocking, a mid-stay clean, and more.”

Hot Tip:

If you’ve got the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit CardInformation collected independently. Not reviewed by Capital One. with a $0 annual fee (rates & fees), you won’t have access to vacation rentals via the Capital One Travel portal.

Final Thoughts

Vacation rentals are a popular choice over hotels for families, group travelers, or for those seeking long-term trips. Capital One’s expansion into this accommodation type marks the first major issuer to offer these vacation homes on a credit card travel portal — and the ability to earn bonus miles and the experience credits is just the cherry on top.
