Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific is celebrating 80 years of flying, and it’s offering its “Cathay” loyalty members a chance to earn a decent chunk of bonus miles with a unique promotion.

While this isn’t an opportunity to earn a game-changing amount of bonus miles, it’s worth understanding this promotion in case you have travel to Asiaplanned or if you will be flying with Cathay Pacific in the near future.

Earn Bonus Miles by Completing Cathay Pacific ‘Missions’

Cathay Pacific‘s “Cathay Anniversary Miles Rewards” promotion allows Cathay members to earn up to 4,380 bonus miles after completing 1 or more “missions.”

Before we look more closely at the details, note that you must be a Cathay program member and register for this promotion to participate.

After registering for the promotion, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a total of 6 special missions to earn up to 4,380 bonus Asia Miles through May 31, 2026:

Mission 1: Complete 1 transaction that either earns or redeems miles to earn 300 bonus Asia Miles.
Mission 2: Earn or redeem miles in at least 2 categories (flights, shopping, holidays, dining, payments, or wellness) to earn 1,000 bonus Asia Miles.
Mission 3: Earn at least 8,000 miles from payment partners to earn 800 bonus Asia Miles.
Mission 4: Earn at least 8,000 miles via travel and lifestyle partners to earn 1,000 bonus Asia Miles.
Mission 5: Redeem at least 8,000 miles to earn 1,200 bonus Asia Miles.
Mission 6: Find the “treasure” in the Cathay mobile app (iOS, Android) to earn 80 bonus Asia Miles.

Note, too, that if you’re not yet a Cathay member, you can register for the program and earn an additional 1,200 bonus Asia Miles after completing 1 miles-earning transaction of any kind.

Finally, be aware that only 1 bonus can be earned per completed mission and that any bonus miles earned through this promotion will post to your Cathay account by June 30, 2026.

This promotion doesn’t offer a tremendous amount of bonus miles, but you don’t need to complete all of the missions to earn bonus miles. Some of them are very easy to complete, such as claiming the hidden treasure within the Cathay mobile app.

Even Mission 2, which requires earning or redeeming miles in at least 2 of 6 categories, won’t be all that difficult. Cathay’s shopping portal features popular brands like Apple, Stanley, and Tumi, and per reporting from AwardWallet, you could satisfy the payment category by making a transfer from one of Cathay’s partners, which include American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One miles, and Citi ThankYou Rewards, among others.

Completing the entire slate of missions would require travel of some sort, but if your plans align, it could be an easy way to add to your Cathay account. However, we don’t recommend going out of your way to earn the full bonus in this offer.
