The IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card has been a favorite among small business owners who are also IHG loyalists and want to earn plenty of points on stays, as well as additional IHG-centric perks and benefits.

If you’ve had the card before or are considering adding it to your wallet for the first time, you’ll want to be aware of an important change Chase has made to the card’s application rules.

Here’s what you need to know.

New Lifetime Language on IHG Premier Business Card

Chase issues the IHG Premier Business card, and now it has added a lifetime restriction on claiming the welcome offer, as reported by Doctor of Credit.

The card’s terms and conditions state the following:

The new cardmember bonus may not be available to you if you have ever had this card. We may also consider factors pertinent to your business in determining your bonus eligibility.

Previously, you were ineligible to receive a new welcome bonus offer on the card if you’d earned one within the past 24 months, but now it looks like you may be completely ineligible to earn a new welcome bonus offer on this card if you’ve ever received it before.

As a quick reminder, the $99-annual fee IHG Premier Business card currently has a welcome bonus offer of:

Chase has been slowly adding similar language to other business card products, including some of its popular Ink business cards, such as the Ink Business Cash^® Credit Card and the Ink Business Preferred^® Credit Card, so expanding it to this hotel co-branded product is definitely indicative that these policies are likely here to stay with Chase products.

Chase has added a lifetime restriction to the IHG Premier Business card, meaning you may not be eligible to earn a new welcome bonus on the card if you’ve ever had it in the past.
