Update:

The offer below has expired or is no longer available.

One of the best welcome offers we’ve seen in 2026 is set to end today.

Right now, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card features an elevated 100,000-point welcome bonus offer. This is the best bonus offer we’ve ever seen for this popular travel card.

We suspected this bonus offer wouldn’t last very long. Now, we have official confirmation that this welcome offer ends today, July 30, 2026, at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Here’s what you need to know if you’re thinking of applying.

Chase Sapphire Preferred Card’s 100K Bonus Offer

In June 2026, Chase launched the highest bonus offer we’ve ever seen for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card.

In the past, we’ve seen welcome offers ranging from 60,000 to 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points, so the ability to earn 100,000 bonus points in a single application is a huge increase.

To earn the 100,000 points, you’ll need to spend at least $5,000 within the first 3 months of account opening, and you can expect your bonus points to post to your account within 1 to 2 billing cycles after meeting the minimum spending threshold.

Based on our latest valuations, 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points are worth $2,000 as it’s possible to boost the value of each point when you utilize Chase’s impressive roster of airline and hotel transfer partners to book incredible travel experiences.

If you’ve been considering applying for a new Chase Sapphire Preferred card, you have about a week to do so before the limited-time welcome offer goes away on July 30, 2026, at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.

Take Note of Chase’s New Eligibility Requirements

Before you apply, there are some eligibility requirements to consider.

Cardholders are now allowed to earn a welcome offer only once per lifetime on each specific Sapphire card. This means that if you’ve earned a Chase Sapphire Preferred card welcome bonus offer in the past, you most likely wouldn’t be eligible to earn this 100,000-point bonus offer.

However, this has led to another interesting situation that’s actually made it possible for more applicants to hold multiple Sapphire products. If you skipped right over the Chase Sapphire Preferred card and went right for a Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ card, you could now be eligible to apply for the card and earn its 100,000-point welcome offer — something that wasn’t previously possible under Chase’s older eligibility rules.

Another thing to keep in mind before you apply is Chase’s 5/24 rule. This states that you must have opened fewer than 5 credit cards from any issuer in the past 24 months to qualify for any new Chase product.

Finally, you’ll want to have good to excellent credit for your best chances at approval.

Hot Tip:

Despite Chase’s new lifetime language, there’s no harm in applying. Just a few weeks ago, I was able to successfully apply for a new Chase Sapphire Preferred card despite having held one in the past. Even better, Chase now has a feature built into the application process that will alert you if you’re not eligible for a new welcome bonus offer, which helps protect your credit score.

Is It Worth It?

Where the Chase Sapphire Preferred card really shines is in the long-term value it offers cardholders. It delivers a very respectable earning structure coupled with meaningful perks and benefits, all for a very reasonable $95 annual fee.

While a product like the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card can compete on annual fee (it costs the same $95 per year), it offers a significantly smaller welcome bonus and less robust combination of earning structure, perks, and benefits.

On the other end, there’s the American Express® Gold Card, which can match or exceed the Chase Sapphire Preferred card in terms of its earning structure, but its $325 is more than 3 times higher (rates & fees).

The Chase Sapphire Preferred card is a Goldilocks solution that provides ways to earn Ultimate Rewards points quickly at a cost that won’t break the bank.

Final Thoughts

The 100,000-point welcome offer for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card officially ends today, July 30, 2026, at 3 p.m. Eastern Time, and there’s no telling if it will ever come back. If you’ve been on the fence about applying, and you think you’d qualify under Chase’s new eligibility requirements, it’s worth giving it a shot before it’s too late.
