Chase is making 2 slight changes to the Sapphire Reserve for Business℠. One of them tightens a spending category, while the other adds real value for anyone booking premium travel on the card.

Beginning November 15, 2026, the 3x earning rate on social media and search engine advertising will be capped, though many small businesses won’t be affected. Then, on January 1, 2027, the annual credit for The Edit by Chase Travel doubles from $500 to $1,000.

If you have — or are thinking about getting — this card, here are the details you should know.

The Edit Credit Doubles to $1,000

This win for Chase Sapphire Reserve Business cardholders arrives in January. The Edit by Chase Travel credit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve Business card increases from $500 to $1,000 annually, split into 4 statement credits with a maximum value of $250. You can use them at any point throughout the year. They’re not restricted to using 1 credit per quarter.

Stays require a minimum of 2 nights to trigger the credit. On top of that, eligible bookings include The Edit‘s complimentary perks: a $100 property credit, daily breakfast for 2, a room upgrade when available, and more. Chase pegs the average total value at over $550 per stay.

For business owners covering client meetings, conferences, or team travel, that’s extra savings on premium hotel stays you were probably going to book anyway. This update doesn’t touch The Edit credit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, a consumer credit card.

The 3x Advertising Category Now Has a Cap

Starting November 15, 2026, 3x earnings on eligible social media and search engine advertising purchases will be capped at $1 million in spend each account anniversary year. Anything beyond the cap earns at 1x, with no maximum spend or limit at that rate.

Chase defines the account anniversary year as the period between November 15, 2026, and your next monthly statement that includes an annual fee, then every 12-month period after that.

The $1 million threshold is high, and Chase says the change won’t affect the large majority of cardholders. If you’re a small operator paying a few thousand dollars a month to Google and Meta, nothing changes for you.

If you’re a heavy advertiser scaling past 7 figures in ad spend, you’ll want to run the numbers on your business’ earnings drop-off. At 3x on $1 million, that’s 3 million points before the earn rate falls. Any spend above that earns like a base transaction.

The Card’s Other Benefits Aren’t Changing

All other rewards and benefits on the Chase Sapphire Reserve Business card remain intact. That includes earning across travel and business spend, access to the Sapphire Lounges at airports, travel protections, and the annual partner credits: a $400 ZipRecruiter credit, a $200 Google Workspace credit toward AI tools for business, and a $100 Giftcards.com credit for employee appreciation.

Final Thoughts

Chase is giving and taking away in this update, but these changes are a net positive for most cardholders. Doubling The Edit credit to $1,000 puts more value on the table than the advertising cap takes away, unless you’re spending well into 7 figures on ads each year with this card.

If you carry the Chase Sapphire Reserve Business card, plan at least 4 qualifying stays at The Edit properties next year to maximize the full benefit; that will more than justify the card’s $795 annual fee.
