Utilizing transfer bonuses is a great way to extract even more value from your hard-earned points and miles. Right now, Citi ThankYou Rewards is offering an attractive 25% transfer bonus when transferring points to Flying Blue, the highly regarded frequent flyer program of Air France and KLM.

Let’s take a look at the details and if this transfer bonus is worth taking advantage of.

Get a 25% Bonus When You Transfer Citi Points to Flying Blue

Usually, Citi ThankYou Rewards Points transfer to Air France-KLM Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio. However, through August 17, 2024, you’ll get a 25% bonus when you transfer at least 1,000 ThankYou Points to Flying Blue, bringing the transfer ratio to 1:1:25. This means that for every 1,000 ThankYou Points transferred, you’ll yield 1,250 Flying Blue miles.

In our experience, transfers between Citi and Flying Blue happen instantly, though note they can take a couple of days to complete in some instances.

No registration is required to take advantage of this promotion, and the bonus points will be reflected in your Flying Blue account as soon as the transfer is completed.

Hot Tip:

Take a look at all of the active transfer bonuses you can take advantage of right now!

Is It Worth It?

We’ve found that using the Flying Blue program is a particularly great way to get between the U.S. and Europe, as you can find business class seats starting at just 55,000 miles one-way, and availability tends to be decent.

And, the program offers Promo Rewards each month, which become even more attractive when there’s an ongoing transfer bonus. While a 25% transfer bonus isn’t the highest we’ve ever seen for Flying Blue, it’s fairly rare to see transfer bonuses from Citi to Flying Blue, which makes the current one something to very seriously consider if you’ve got travel plans on the mind and have some ThankYou Points to use.

If you still want to earn Air France-KLM Flying Blue miles after taking advantage of this Citi transfer bonus, remember that all of the other major currencies — American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Capital One Miles — also transfer to Flying Blue.

Final Thoughts

There’s a new 25% transfer bonus from Citi to Air France-KLM Flying Blue through August 17, 2024. Transfer bonuses don’t happen very frequently between these 2 programs, so this represents a great opportunity to squeeze even more value out of your Citi ThankYou Rewards Points.
