Citi and Overstock.com have teamed up together to launch the Overstock Mastercard®, which will reward you for the purchases you make every day and also on Overstock. While this credit card will only be really useful in a few instances, it does come with some interesting benefits that may be useful for frequent Overstock shoppers.

What Is Overstock?

Overstock is a leading website that specializes in selling furnishings and home goods. Originally designed as a mechanism for retailers to sell extra goods (hence the name Overstock), the online giant has refocused in recent years on providing name-brand goods for homes at a deep discount.

Overstock Card Benefits

The new Overstock card can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted and is different than the Overstock Store Credit Card, which can only be used for Overstock.com purchases.

The Overstock card comes with several key benefits:

Financing

While you should do your best to avoid carrying a balance on a credit card, the new Overstock card provides specialized financing offers for those who want to spread out the repayment of select purchases. For purchases made at Overstock.com, Overstock card cardholders will receive the following financing offers:

  • 6 months of 0% APR on orders $199 or more
  • 12 months of 0% APR on orders $499 or more
  • 18 months of 0% APR on orders $1,499 or more
  • 24 months of 0% APR on orders $1,999 or more
  • 36 months of 9.99% APR on orders $1,299 or more
  • 48 months of 9.99% APR on orders $1,699 or more
  • 60 months of 9.99% APR on orders $1,999 or more

You’ll receive these preferred interest rates as long as you pay your balance in full prior to the promotion expiration. If you’re unable to complete full payment in time, you’ll be charged the prevailing interest rate.

Hot Tip: For those who want 0% APR on purchases made outside of Overstock, check out our list of the best 0% APR cards.

Rewards

If you’re a heavy shopper on Overstock.com, you’re in luck since the rewards will primarily benefit you.

The Overstock card earns rewards at the following rate:

  • 5% back in Club O rewards on Overstock purchases
  • 3% back in Club O rewards on apparel & department store purchases
  • 2% back in Club O rewards on gasoline purchases
  • 1% back in Club O rewards on all other purchases

The rewards you earn can only be used towards items at Overstock.com.

Hot Tip: If you want more flexibility in how you earn your rewards, you’ll be better off with a cash-back credit card or travel rewards credit card.

Club O Membership

The Overstock card has no annual fee and comes with a free Club O membership, valued at $19.95 per year. Club O perks include the ability to return items to Overstock for free, a price match guarantee, and double points when leaving a review.

Final Thoughts

This new credit card will primarily benefit those who like to shop at Overstock, but if you’re a heavy shopper there you may certainly find some value here. Be sure to evaluate if this card makes sense for you, or choose another card that earns a different type of reward or cash-back.
