Marriott Bonvoy is planting its flag with its first hotel in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. If you plan to travel to Mexico, this property is worth paying attention to, as it offers one of the best deals for points stays we’ve seen at a luxury hotel.

Let’s take a look!

Marriott Opens New Autograph Collection Hotel in Mexico

Cleviá, San Miguel de Allende, Autograph Collection, offers just 74 rooms and 42 residences, each with a separate living and seating area.

Amenities include a signature restaurant, an infinity pool, a fitness center, event spaces, and a dedicated art space hosting local artists.

San Miguel de Allende is a city in Mexico’s central highlands and is best known for its Spanish architecture. It sits about 3 hours north of Mexico City in the state of Guanajuato.

“As we open our doors, we are not just bringing a new hotel to the city, we are embracing the opportunity to become part of this extraordinary community, creating meaningful connections and unforgettable experiences for travelers and locals alike,” said Brian King, president of Marriott’s Caribbean and Latin America region.

Bottom Line:

If you aren’t familiar with it, Marriott’s Autograph Collection is a hand-selected collection of hotels based on their design and commitment to hospitality. You’ll find more than 300 Autograph Collection worldwide, including some recent openings, such as Royalton Chic Antigua, Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Hotel.

Booking Cleviá, San Miguel de Allende, Autograph Collection

Cleviá, San Miguel de Allende, Autograph Collection, has officially opened for guests. Rates here are pretty pricey for Mexico, hovering around $300 per night.

With the high cash prices, we suggest using Marriott Bonvoy points — and you can’t go wrong here, as rates are an absolute steal. We’re seeing award nights priced as low as 16,000 points per night, which is one of the cheapest rates we’ve seen at a luxury hotel.

Marriott Bonvoy points are pretty easy to earn, even if you aren’t loyal to the chain.

American Express Membership RewardsBilt Rewards, and Chase Ultimate Rewards all transfer to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio. Sometimes, issuers will offer limited-time bonuses for which you’ll earn more points when you transfer. Additionally, Marriott Bonvoy offers several co-branded credit cards, which come with sizable welcome bonus offers and varying levels of Marriott Bonvoy elite status.

Final Thoughts

Marriott has opened a swanky new Autograph Collection hotel in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It’s a gorgeous property full of amenities for a luxury getaway, but what caught our eye was the dirt-cheap award rates. Spending just 16,000 points per night can’t be beaten!
