Columbus Hotel Monte-Carlo, Curio Collection by Hilton is the chain’s first property in the sovereign city-state of Monaco.

Here’s what you need to know.

Hilton’s Debut in Monaco

The Columbus Hotel Monte-Carlo, Curio Collection by Hilton, features 181 guest rooms, offering either views of the Princess Grace Rose Garden or the Mediterranean. Many rooms will feature private terraces.

The hotel will offer an onsite restaurant, a fitness center, and an outdoor pool and is a 40-minute drive from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE).

Rates here start at around $430 per night or 80,000 Hilton Honors points nightly.

If you aren’t familiar — or didn’t watch the 2011 film Monte Carlo — Monaco is a sovereign city-state and microstate located along the French Riviera.

“The Principality of Monaco is an iconic destination, and the Columbus Hotel Monte-Carlo, Curio Collection by Hilton will be an incredible addition to our portfolio, marking our first hotel in Monaco,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President of Development, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hilton.

Booking Hilton Hotels on the French Riviera

While this is Hilton’s first property in Monaco, the brand has 2 hotels in the nearby French Riviera: Canopy by Hilton Cannes, which opened in August, and the Le Hameau des Pesquiers Ecolodge & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton.

Seen as one of the most sought-after travel destinations in the world, you’ll pay a pretty penny in cash — or points — to stay in the region, especially during peak season. However, if traveling during low season, you can find award nights at Le Hameau starting at 90,000 points (or $300), while rates at the Canopy start at 30,000 points (or $150).

Hilton Honors — like many other hotel chains — no longer uses an award chart, so rates can be lower or higher depending on several factors.

But it’s incredibly easy to earn Hilton Honors points whether you’re a casual fan or a Hilton Honors loyalist. The chain offers several co-branded credit cards that come with sizable welcome bonuses and even automatic elite status. You can also transfer points from American Express, link your account to Lyft, or eat out through Hilton Honors Dining.

Final Thoughts

While there’s no shortage of points hotels along the French Riviera, Monaco isn’t known for having points options. Hilton is changing that by opening a Curio Collection property, one of its signature brands.
