German leisure-focused carrier Condor has announced it will launch nonstop flights between its Frankfurt (FRA) base and Chicago O’Hare (ORD) next summer.

“Chicago is an ideal addition to our North American network and a market with significant potential for both leisure and business travel. With this new service, we are providing our guests with convenient access to one of the most important metropolitan regions in the United States while also offering travelers from Chicago seamless connections to Europe via our Frankfurt hub,” said Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor.

Here’s what you need to know about this upcoming new route.

Condor Is Coming to Chicago Next Summer

Starting May 14, 2027, Germany’s brightly colored leisure carrier, Condor, will begin nonstop seasonal service between Frankfurt and Chicago.

Flights will operate according to the following schedule until service ends for the season on September 12, 2027:

The airline’s Airbus A330-900neo will fly the new route. These jets come equipped with state-of-the-art cabins featuring business class, premium economy, and standard economy seating. Each cabin has modern features such as USB-C charging and large inflight entertainment monitors.

The business class cabin offers a modern 1-2-1 seating arrangement and is competitive with some of the better offerings in the segment, and it’s certainly better than the 2-2-2 configuration its hometown rival Lufthansa offers in the majority of its business class cabins.

Fares are already on sale, and the cheapest economy fares cost around $850 round-trip, which is significantly less than what legacy carriers are offering on the same route. Alternatively, you can redeem Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards points for Condor flights, despite the carrier not being a member of the Oneworld alliance. And if you pay cash, you can earn Atmos Rewards points for your flights.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

Condor is starting flights to Chicago next summer. Though the route will only be seasonal (at least to start), it offers a lower-cost alternative to many legacy carriers serving Germany and provides a solid onboard experience.

If you’re based in the Chicago area and Germany (or further afield in Europe) is on your list for next summer, you’ll definitely want to consider this new nonstop flight option.
