Typically, the opening of a Courtyard Marriott wouldn’t turn many heads, but a new hotel in Japan aims to change that. It offers amenities you’d find at luxury hotels, and it’s a steal with Marriott Bonvoy points.

Let’s take a look!

High-End Courtyard Marriott Comes to Sapporo

Courtyard by Marriott Sapporo offers 321 guest rooms and suites, with some rooms on the top floor offering city views. Rooms feature free Wi-Fi, plush Serta mattresses, a sofa, bottled water, and a coffee and tea maker.

It’s clear from photos of the hotel that this isn’t your ordinary Courtyard Marriott, as amenities are considerably higher-end.

They include a lounge, an all-day restaurant, a 24-hour fitness center, a spa with a Japanese-style public bath, and meeting spaces. The hotel is located near Nakajima Park, a major subway line, and approximately 30 miles from New Chitose Airport (CTS).

This is Japan’s 8th Courtyard Marriott hotel and the first to debut in Hokkaido.

“Courtyard by Marriott Hotels combine innovative technology with style and comfort, with open and inviting public spaces,” said Karl Hudson, Area Vice President, Japan & Guam. “We are looking forward to welcoming Next-Gen guests at Courtyard by Marriott Sapporo, whether they are traveling on business, leisure, or both.”

Booking Courtyard Sapporo With Marriott Bonvoy Points

The Courtyard Sapporo has opened and can be booked with cash or Marriott Bonvoy points.

Either way, you can’t go wrong — both options offer incredible value. Cash rates start at around $95 per night for dates this fall.

However, award rates here are a fantastic deal for Japan — they start at just 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy points this winter. The low award rates make booking here super easy, even if you aren’t a Marriott Bonvoy loyalist or have a ton of points sitting in your account.

Earning Marriott Bonvoy points is extremely easy. You can earn them by:

Hot Tip:

If the award rates are higher than usual, you can also apply a 35,000-point certificate to your reservation here, which can be earned through several co-branded Marriott credit cards!

Final Thoughts

Courtyard by Marriott Sapporo is pretty impressive. It offers many of the same luxury amenities you’d find at 5-star resorts — high-end bedding, a spa, a gym — at a competitive price in cash or points. If you find yourself in Northern Japan, a stay at the Courtyard Sapporo is a great option for an affordable, luxury stay!
