There’s a fantastic deal to the Scottish capital of Edinburgh (EDI), starting at just $521 round-trip.

This is more than $300 cheaper than the average price, according to data from Google Flights. That means you can save money to get to Edinburgh, and then use that extra money splurge on hotels, pay for activities, and more.

Here’s how to book.

Fare Deal — Details

This deal is available from Newark (EWR) and New York City (JFK) to Edinburgh (EDI) on Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. Flights on Delta and United are nonstop, while flights on Star Alliance and SkyTeam partners, such as Air Canada and Air France, have layovers both ways.

You can explore various dates using Google Flights and then book directly through your airline of choice. While cheaper flights may be available through online travel agencies (OTAs), we recommend booking directly with the airline. This is especially true if you need to make changes to your reservation after purchase, which is notoriously difficult when booking through an OTA.

  • Class: Economy
  • Routes: New York-Kennedy (JFK) and Newark (EWR) to Edinburgh (EDI)
  • Dates: August 2025 through April 2026
  • Rates: As low as $521 round-trip
Hot Tip:

The best time to visit Edinburgh is in the early Fall (September and October). During these months, the weather is favorable, there are fewer crowds, and hotel rates are more affordable.

How To Book

There’s pretty good availability between this summer and the spring of 2026, so it should be easy to find dates that work for you.

As I mentioned above, tickets start at around $521 round-trip; however, there’s a catch. The cheapest tickets are basic economy fares. This means you’ll incur extra charges for seat selection and checked baggage, depending on the airline.

United’s basic economy is among the most restrictive. Basic Economy ticket holders aren’t permitted to bring a carry-on, and changes and refunds aren’t available. Delta recently made its basic economy far more restrictive, especially on flights to Europe. The airline introduced blackout dates for Basic Economy, where tickets cannot be changed or canceled.

After you’ve picked dates, you’ll want to book using a card that rewards you for travel purchases or one of the best airline credit cards. These can maximize your rewards on the purchase.

Final Thoughts

Several airlines have dirt-cheap tickets to Edinburgh from Newark and New York. While most of the tickets are in basic economy, a flight to Europe for around $520 round-trip is still a fantastic deal.

However, like many flight deals, this one is likely to sell out quickly. Be sure to book it ASAP if you find something you like.
