Hilton Honors and Delta Air Lines are offering a promotion through which Hilton Honors members can earn extra rewards for flying with Delta this summer.

Here’s a look at all the details of this promotion and how you can claim your bonus points.

Earn Up to 6,000 Bonus Hilton Honors Points in Latest Promo

Hilton Honors, in conjunction with Delta Air Lines, is offering its members the chance to earn up to 6,000 bonus points when they book certain flights with the Atlanta-based carrier.

However, it’s not as cut and dry as it may appear, so let’s examine the fine print:

  • You must register for this promotion by July 19, 2024, to be eligible to earn bonus points, and you must have active Hilton Honors and Delta SkyMiles accounts.
  • Hilton Honors members must have their Delta SkyMiles number added as their preferred travel partner in their account preferences page on hilton.com.
  • Earn 1,000 bonus Hilton Honors points per each one-way ticket booked in Comfort+, first class, Delta Premium Select, or Delta One.
  • Comparable premium cabin tickets marketed by certain Delta partners and ticketed through delta.com, Delta’s mobile app (iOS, Android), Delta’s reservations phone line, a Delta kiosk, or a Delta airport counter with a ticket number beginning in “006” are also eligible for the promotion.
  • Reservations must be made between now and July 19, 2024, with travel occurring through September 19, 2024.
  • According to the terms and conditions, “Bulk Tickets, Industry Discount Tickets, and Consolidator Discounted Tickets are not eligible for this offer.”
  • There’s a maximum of 6 one-way flights per Hilton Honors member.
  • Bonus points will be deposited within 6 to 8 weeks after flights are completed and do not count toward Hilton Honors elite status.

Is It Worth It?

Unfortunately, how this promotion is structured makes it not really worth going out of your way to satisfy the terms.

Rather than receiving a 1-time bonus of 6,000 Hilton Honors points, you’ll receive just 1,000 bonus points for each one-way ticket booked into the cabins mentioned above, which also means that you’ll likely be excluded from the promotion if you book a Main Cabin ticket and get upgraded to a higher class of service, which is what frequently happens if you happen to have Delta Medallion elite status.

And, considering that we value Hilton Honors points at 0.5 cents apiece, a bonus of 1,000 points equates to $5, often far less than the premium you’d pay to book a seat even in Comfort+, not to mention first class, Premium Select, or Delta One.

However, if you fly with Delta and prefer to book seats in premium cabins, it’s a no-brainer to register for the promotion and claim your bonus Hilton Honors points, as it’s essentially free money for completing an activity you were going to do anyway.

Final Thoughts

While it’s always great to have an opportunity to earn bonus points, it’s unfortunate that this promotion from Hilton Honors and Delta has many requirements and stipulations that make it harder to maximize.

We wouldn’t recommend making plans specifically to earn the bonus points up for grabs with this promotion, but if it fits into your typical travel plans, make sure to register and book your flights by July 19 so you can claim your bonus Hilton Honors points!
