Delta Air Lines is moving forward with plans to expand its exclusive Delta One Lounge network to its hometown hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). This marks another step in the airline’s push to elevate the premium travel experience for long-haul passengers.

This is a major win for those who frequently travel with Delta through Atlanta. Here’s everything we know so far.

New Delta One Lounge at Atlanta International Airport

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is Delta Air Lines‘ largest hub and one of the busiest airports in the world, serving well over 100 million passengers annually.

The airport features several Delta Sky Clubs across its numerous concourses. However, plans are in place to add another lounge: a brand-new Delta One Lounge.

The planned lounge, confirmed by Delta executives in 2025, is a tier above normal Sky Clubs and will give Atlanta-based travelers access to the carrier’s highest-tier airport hospitality offering.

Currently, Delta operates Delta One Lounges at several airports, including Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York (JFK), and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

Atlanta’s Delta One Lounge will be located in Concourse E, one of the airport’s 2 main international terminals, alongside Concourse F, and it will be roughly 39,000 square feet.

The lounge will be a newly built facility rather than a conversion of an existing Delta Sky Club. However, construction has yet to begin, and the project is expected to take around 30 months to complete, pushing the opening timeline to 2029.

Delta One Lounges

Delta One Lounges have quickly earned a reputation as among the best premium airline lounges in the world. They are designed for Delta’s premium long-haul travelers, offering a more upscale experience than traditional airline lounges, including Delta Sky Clubs.

Amenities typically include chef-curated dining, premium bars, outdoor terraces, wellness spaces, shower suites, and quiet areas for relaxation or work before flights.

Delta One Lounge access is generally reserved for passengers traveling in Delta One and select partner airline premium cabins.

Final Thoughts

Delta Air Lines is planning to open its first Delta One Lounge in Atlanta in Concourse E. Though there’s no official opening date, construction hasn’t begun yet and should take several years.

This move is another step in Delta’s effort to improve the premium travel experience for long-haul passengers. It also reflects a broader trend in the airline industry: investing in high-end airport experiences to attract premium travelers and differentiate themselves from competitors.
