Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Delta is running a limited-time offer where you can redeem your SkyMiles towards a Delta Vacations package to Hawaii and receive 30% more value out of your miles. While it’s generally a bad idea to use your miles toward such a purchase, getting more value towards a vacation package can certainly be a good thing if you have a hefty stash you’re looking to get rid of.

What Is Delta Vacations?

When you think of Delta Air Lines, you normally just think of the plane ticket you’re purchasing to go from 1 city to another. Delta operates a separate arm called Delta Vacations, all under the main Delta Air Lines umbrella, that combines airfare and hotels for a single, discounted price. Utilizing consolidator airfares, Delta is able to offer a cheaper flight, as well as a discounted hotel stay.

The trick is that you need to purchase both elements together. Unlike booking on your own where you’d book a flight separate from the hotel, Delta Vacations forces you to buy both together in a single transaction, offering savings for doing so.

Spending Your Miles

Typically, you receive 1 cent of value towards a Delta Vacations package for every SkyMile you apply to it, but this limited-time offer allows you to get 1.3 cents of value for every SkyMile.

So long as you have 1 Delta flight in your itinerary and your trip is at least 2 nights long, you can take advantage of the savings. For every 50,000 SkyMiles you apply toward a vacation package, you’d normally receive $500 off, but this offer allows you to receive $650 off.

You need to book by February 8, 2023, and packages are available through the end of the year. For this savings, your travel must be to Hawaii. While the hotel and airfare are the minimum components of your trip, you can also add in car rental, transfers, and activities.

To book, simply visit Delta’s website. There’s no minimum amount of miles you need to redeem, though the maximum is 999,999.

Hot Tip: Consider your options for booking flights and hotels in Hawaii with points and miles in our detailed guides!

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking to travel to Hawaii, you can use your Delta SkyMiles to save on a vacation package. Your miles might otherwise be more valuable to use on a Delta flight or partner award, but under the right circumstances, you might consider using them in a Delta Vacations offer such as this.
