Delta Air Lines is taking its inflight entertainment (IFE) lineup to the next level by partnering with YouTube. Announced at CES 2025, the new collaboration brings ad-free YouTube videos, music playlists, and podcasts directly to Delta’s seatback screens and personal devices.

Here’s what you need to know about this exciting addition.

What Travelers Can Expect

Delta has been heavily investing in inflight entertainment, with more than 165,000 seatback screens across its fleet. Now, those screens (and your own devices) are getting a new addition: YouTube.

Flyers will start seeing a mix of videos, podcasts, and playlists from well-known creators like Mel Robbins, Michelle Khare, MrBeast, and Nick DiGiovanni, plus kid-friendly options such as “Mother Goose Club.” YouTube Music playlists tailored to different moods and travel moments are also making their way onboard.

If you’d rather stream on your phone or tablet, there’s a new perk for SkyMiles members. Starting October 1, anyone logged into Delta Sync Wi-Fi on U.S. domestic flights can try out YouTube Premium for 14 days — completely free and without entering payment info. That means you can watch or listen without ads, download content for offline viewing, and keep playback going in the background.

Delta even worked with YouTube Music to refresh its boarding music, swapping in a new instrumental pop soundtrack designed with flight attendants to be more welcoming and upbeat. It’s a subtle change, but it should make the whole boarding experience feel a bit more modern and enjoyable.

Personally, I see this as a minor but welcome upgrade, especially for flights where I usually rely on predownloaded shows or playlists to pass the time.

Hot Tip:

Make sure you’re logged into your SkyMiles account when connecting to Delta Sync Wi-Fi to unlock the free YouTube Premium trial. It’s available only to members flying domestically, so this simple step ensures you don’t miss out.

Final Thoughts

With YouTube now onboard, Delta’s inflight entertainment gives passengers more ways to pass the time. Ad-free videos, playlists, and the free YouTube Premium trial add flexibility for watching or listening, making the experience a bit more personal for travelers.

For longer flights, it’s nice to have options beyond the usual movies or TV shows, whether you want to catch up on a favorite creator, dive into a podcast, or listen to music while relaxing. It’s a small change, but one that can make a difference if you’re trying to make the flight feel a little more like your own space.
