This latest Southwest promotion is pretty straightforward: You can save up to 40% on select cash and award flights when you book by the end of the day on October 22, 2026.

Luckily, everyone can participate. There’s no registration or promo code required for this new promotion. The discount is automatically applied to eligible flights, with the original base fare shown as a strikethrough.

Eligible travel dates run from November 9, 2026, through March 3, 2027, though several blackout dates apply.

Continental U.S. travel is blacked out on:

November 28-29, 2026
December 26-28, 2026
January 2-3, 2027

For travel from the continental U.S. to international destinations, Hawaii, Anchorage, St. Thomas, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, blackout dates are November 19-25 and December 17, 2026, through January 5, 2027. For travel to the continental U.S. from those destinations, blackout dates are November 27 through December 1 and December 17, 2026, through January 5, 2027. Interisland Hawaii travel isn’t included in the promotion.

Fares may vary by destination, flight, and day of the week and won’t be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times and holiday periods.

It’s worth noting that Southwest Rapid Rewards is a revenue-based rewards program, which means award rates are aligned very closely with cash fares. That means lower cash fares should also translate into lower award prices during this sale.
