Hyatt is growing the Dreams brand further in the Dominican Republic by announcing a new resort in the picturesque region of Cap Cana.

Let’s take a look at the new Dreams Resort location opening in 2024.

New Dreams Resort Coming to the Dominican Republic

Dreams Cap Cana Resort & Spa will have 519 guest rooms and suites. These include 40 villas and 100 swim-up suites. The resort will open “by the end of the year,” though Hyatt hasn’t announced a specific opening date.

The resort will be located in the gated Cap Cana community, which features 2 theme parks, an equestrian center, and a golf course. Amenities inside the resort include 10 restaurants, 6 bars, nightlife entertainment, a spa, a fitness center, 4 swimming pools, and children’s programming.

The resort will be 15 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). The airport serves many U.S. airlines and offers nonstop flights from cities like Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK), and Washington (IAD).

This will be the third Dreams location in the greater Punta Cana area, as Hyatt already has the Dreams Flora Resort & Spa and Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana. Neither is located in the Cap Cana area, though both are Category B all-inclusive properties.

The Dreams Cap Cana Resort & Spa’s website isn’t available yet, so we don’t know how much it’ll cost with cash or World of Hyatt points. We’ll update this story when we have a better sense of pricing.

Bottom Line:

2025 is shaping up to be a big year for Hyatt in the Dominican Republic. The brand says it will have nearly 20 hotels and resorts in the country open by the end of the year.

Hyatt’s Other Resorts in the Dominican Republic

Hyatt has over a dozen all-inclusive options across the Dominican Republic, some family-friendly and some adult-only.

The resorts fall under Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection umbrella, which the chain expanded after acquiring Apple Leisure Group in 2021. The acquisition saw Hyatt expand its presence in regions like the Caribbean and Mexico.

Hyatt uses a different award chart for all-inclusive resorts. The cheapest options, Category A resorts, start at just 12,000 points. The most expensive, Category F, starts at 42,000 per night.

Perhaps the best adults-only all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic is the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana. The resort offers nearly 400 rooms — some with swim-up suites — 25 restaurants and bars, a spa, and several pools. Its status as one of Hyatt’s best all-inclusive options doesn’t come cheap: this Category F resort starts at 42,000 per night and can cost up to 58,000 points per night on peak nights.

World of Hyatt points are not the easiest to earn, but we value them at 1.5 cents each, meaning they’re extremely valuable. The easiest way to earn points is to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio. Hyatt also has 2 co-branded credit cards, both of which come with sizable welcome bonuses and elite status.

Final Thoughts

We love hearing about new all-inclusive resort openings, especially options that can be booked with points. All-inclusives aren’t for everyone, but they can offer incredible value for families and solo travelers. We look forward to checking out this new resort when it finally opens, which should be before the end of the year.
