EgyptAir will begin flying to Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX) just in time for the busy summer travel season. We’ve known for a while now that the carrier wanted to add these 2 cities to its route map, but now it’s official.

Here’s what you need to know about these exciting new routes.

EgyptAir’s New Routes to Chicago and Los Angeles

We reported in November 2025 that EgyptAir wanted to add nonstop flights from Cairo (CAI) to Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX), and now it’s official.

The Los Angeles route will commence on May 23, 2026, though technically, this is a route resumption, as the carrier has served LAX in the past. Flights between Cairo and LAX will operate 3 times weekly, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, according to the following schedule:

  • Depart Cairo (CAI) 8:30 a.m. — Arrive Los Angeles (LAX) 1:20 p.m.
  • Depart Los Angeles (LAX) 5:25 p.m. — Arrive Cairo (CAI) 5:10 p.m. (+1)

Soon after, EgyptAir will launch its first-ever nonstop flights to Chicago on June 21, 2026. This route will also operate 3 times weekly, on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, according to the following schedule:

  • Depart Cairo (CAI) 12:50 a.m. — Arrive Chicago (ORD) 5:15 a.m.
  • Depart Chicago (ORD) 10:30 a.m. — Arrive Cairo (CAI) 5:40 a.m. (+1)

Both routes will be operated by EgyptAir’s new Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which are configured with 30 business class seats and 310 seats in economy.

EgyptAir’s A350s feature a reverse-herringbone configuration (with sliding privacy doors!) in business class, which is a competitive hard product in 2026.

Los Angeles and Chicago will become the Egyptian flag carrier’s fifth and sixth North American destinations, respectively. The airline also offers nonstop flights from Cairo to New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Toronto (YYZ), and Washington, D.C. (IAD).

Final Thoughts

EgyptAir is expanding its North American network in a big way with the addition of nonstop flights between Cairo and Chicago and Los Angeles. The Los Angeles route will resume after a several-year hiatus in May, and the Chicago route will start for the first time in June of this year.

For anyone in the Chicago and Los Angeles areas wishing to travel to Egypt this summer and beyond, it’s about to become a lot easier thanks to these new nonstop flights to the Egyptian capital.
