Emirates launched its new premium economy cabin on the Boeing 777-300ER on November 1, 2024, with the inaugural route connecting Dubai and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The carrier had previously stated its plans to launch the retrofitted Boeing 777s with Premium Economy to routes like Miami and Bogotá, among other destinations in the United States.

Fast forward, and Emirates is now introducing its latest premium economy offering on its Bogotá route from Miami, making Bogotá the first South American destination to feature the new premium economy on Emirates’ 4-class Boeing 777s.

Let’s look at what passengers can expect from Emirates’ new premium economy option.

First South American Destination for Emirates’ New Premium Economy Is Bogotá

As part of Emirates’ ambitious fleet retrofit project, the airline has successfully upgraded 15 of its Boeing 777 aircraft, with the latest additions now serving the fifth-freedom flight between Bogotá and Miami, which launched in June 2024.

We had been anticipating this for quite some time, as the Dubai-based carrier has been quite vocal about introducing a Premium Economy cabin to over 40% of Emirates aircraft. Now, the airline is ensuring that planes are being retrofitted with its latest offering.

Passengers traveling on the newly updated Boeing 777 aircraft between Bogotá (BOG) and Dubai (DXB) via Miami (MIA) can now enjoy the comfort of premium economy. These new seats boast fresh interiors and attractive features like 6-way adjustable headrests, wider seats with extra legroom, 13.3” IFE screens, and a 3-course meal crafted from seasonal ingredients, all served on elegant china tableware.

Bogotá is the first destination in the airline’s South American network to receive these premium economy seats on its upgraded, 4-class Boeing 777 aircraft.

The 4-class Boeing 777 offers 8 first class suites, up to 40 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 256 economy seats.

Hot Tip:

Emirates’ latest premium economy offering is now available at 12 destinations in its network across the Americas, including Chicago (ORD), Dallas (DFW), and more, with the exciting new additions of Bogotá and Miami.

Final Thoughts

Emirates remains dedicated to upgrading its aging fleet, with its latest premium economy offering now available on its fifth-freedom route between Miami and Bogotá. This marks a significant milestone for the carrier, as Bogotá becomes the first South American city to experience the airline’s top premium economy cabin on its 4-class Boeing 777.

Travelers flying between Dubai and Bogotá via Miami now have an appealing premium economy option for those seeking a more elevated experience than standard economy.
