Ever wanted to fly Etihad business class? This Middle Eastern airline is famous for its over-the-top treatment of high-end customers, and now you can fly it, too. There is a wide swath of award availability for business class seats from the U.S. to Abu Dhabi. Let’s take a look.

Award Alert — Details

You can find availability from several cities on the East Coast to Abu Dhabi by booking with the American Airlines AAdvantage program and flying with Etihad. As far as dates go, we’re seeing solid availability through May 2026.

You’ll get a lot of value for your money when you book these flights, which can last up to 13 hours.

  • Class: Business
  • Route: Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), New York City (JFK), and Washington, D.C. (IAD) to Abu Dhabi (AUH)
  • Cost: As low as 70,000 American miles
  • Travel dates: August 2025 to May 2026
  • Award seats: Up to 5 passengers per route

The lowest award rates we found are from East Coast airports with a one-way flight priced at 70,000 American Airlines miles and approximately $7 in taxes and fees.

For context, Etihad Guest charges 120,000 miles plus $544 for similar flight routes in business class.

A tool like Seats.aero makes it easy to look for and compare multiple routes and dates at the same time.

You can easily search multiple dates and airports all at once, find out which dates have the 70,000 point availability, and then select what works best for your travel plans.

Through August 15, 2025, you can use the promo code UPGRADED to save 20% on an annual Seats.aero subscription.

How To Book

If you don’t already have a large stash of American Airlines miles, stocking up can be a bit difficult. Aside from using American Airlines credit cards, the AAdvantage program is a 3:1 transfer partner of Marriott Bonvoy. It also recently became a 1:1 transfer partner of the Citi ThankYou Rewards program.

Alternatively, you could also purchase the American Airlines miles needed for this redemption, which could be a great price arbitrage opportunity.

Depending on which Etihad route you take, you’ll either be on Etihad’s 787, many of which feature the older (but still excellent) business class seat, or the Airbus A350, which has Etihad’s newest (and best) business class product. A350s can be found on the New York and Chicago routes.

Hot Tip:

There are tons of great ways to redeem American Airlines miles for award travel.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been wanting to try out Etihad’s business-class product, now is the time to book. You can find fairly widespread availability on routes from several U.S. cities to Abu Dhabi.

Even if you’re not a fan of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi serves as an excellent starting point to numerous onward destinations, including the Middle East, India, and the Maldives.
