Ever wanted to fly Etihad business class? This Middle Eastern airline is famous for its over-the-top treatment of high-end customers, and now you can fly it, too. Etihad has released wide swaths of award availability for business class seats from the U.S. to Abu Dhabi. Let’s take a look.

Award Alert — Details

You can find availability from several cities on the East Coast to Abu Dhabi by booking with Etihad Guest miles and flying with Etihad. As far as dates go, we’re seeing solid availability in the first half of 2025, running from January to June.

These flights last upwards of 13 hours, which means you’ll get a lot of “bang for your buck” when you book.

  • Class: Business
  • Route: Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK), and Washington, D.C. (IAD) to Abu Dhabi (AUH)
  • Cost: 120,000 Etihad Guest miles
  • Travel Dates: January to June 2025
  • Award Seats: Up to 4 passengers per route

We also found a few dates and routes showing first-class awards. You’ll want to click on “Details” on these awards to understand which seat type you’ll get. Only those on the Airbus A380 aircraft will include Etihad’s first-class Apartments. Here’s an example we found from New York (JFK) to Abu Dhabi in March 2025:

For business class, the cheapest awards will cost 120,000 miles per person plus $544 in taxes and fees. That might look high for an award cost, but consider that these flights regularly sell for over $4,000 per person one-way.

You can search easily on Etihad’s redemption page or use a tool like Seats.aero to check multiple routes across a range of dates simultaneously.

How To Book

Etihad is not a member of any airline alliance, and these awards aren’t showing in partner programs like American Airlines AAdvantage or Air Canada Aeroplan. That’s a bummer, given that bookings would be cheaper in those programs.

Earning Etihad Guest miles isn’t difficult, though. The program accepts 1:1 transfers from American Express Membership Rewards, Capital One miles, and Citi ThankYou Rewards. It also receives transfers from Marriott Bonvoy at a 3:1 ratio.

Depending on which Etihad route you take, you’ll either be on Etihad’s 787, which features the older (but still excellent) business class seat, or the Airbus A350, which has Etihad’s newest (and best) business class product. A350s can be found on the New York and Chicago routes.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been wanting to try out Etihad’s business-class product, now is the time to book. You can find fairly widespread availability on routes from several U.S. cities to Abu Dhabi. Even if you’re not a fan of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi makes for an excellent jumping-off point to a number of onward destinations, including the Maldives.
