EVA Air will start its seventh U.S. route sooner than originally planned, and it’s bringing the world’s best premium economy to the new flight.

As first announced last year, the Taipei-based carrier has opened reservations for its nonstop service from Taipei (TPE) to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), which will commence on October 3, 2025.

The route hasn’t even started yet, but it’s proving popular, as EVA Air is increasing the route’s frequency. Moreover, the carrier’s fourth-generation premium economy will feature on the flight.

Let’s explore this interesting route addition in some more detail.

EVA Air Chooses Dallas as Next U.S. Destination

EVA will fly nonstop between Taipei and Dallas (DFW) as of October 3, 2025.

Eva will deploy its 278-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with 3 classes (business, premium economy, and economy) on the route with the following schedule:

  • Depart Taipei (TPE) at 7:45 p.m. and arrive in Dallas (DFW) at 7:05 p.m.
  • Depart Dallas (DFW) at 10:50 p.m. and arrive in Taipei (TPE) at 5:25 (+2)

The route will start with a 3x-per-week schedule on October 3, 2025. On November 18, that will increase to a 5x weekly schedule, and it will become daily service on December 15, 2025.

Playing with dates on Google Flights shows economy flights available from $688 one-way and $1,130 round-trip.

EVA’s website previously showed prices for the inaugural flight in economy starting at $642.50 one-way, though the flight now costs over $700 on the first trip.

As DFW is an American Airlines hub and Oneworld airline focus airport, this is a curious addition to the Star Alliance member airline’s route network. That said, EVA also chose New York (JFK) rather than the neighboring United and Star Alliance hub at Newark (EWR).

When considering EVA already flies to nearby Houston (IAH), a United hub and Star Alliance focus airport, the choice of Dallas becomes even more questionable.

Hot Tip:

This route was originally planned to be operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft, but the plane type was updated to a 787-9 on July 1, 2025.

EVA Bringing Fourth-Generation Premium Economy to the U.S.

EVA Air was the first carrier to launch premium economy back in 1992. Now, the carrier is in its fourth generation of this cabin.

These new seats feature an industry-leading 42 inches of pitch between rows. The cabin has 28 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration.

Flying EVA From the U.S. to Taiwan

The airline only flies to 6 cities in the U.S., so why fly to 2 airports so close together?

Speculation around the decision has led some to the hypothesis that EVA wants to deter fellow Taipei-based carrier Starlux from adding Dallas to its rapidly expanding international route network — and the latter is considering membership in the Oneworld alliance as well.

As it stands, EVA would have the monopoly on the route as the only airline to operate service between the 2 cities.

At the time of writing, EVA operates 8 nonstop services to North America, 6 of which are in the U.S. plus 2 in Canada.

The airline operates a mixture of aircraft on its U.S. routes. You’ll most likely find yourself on one of its 33 Boeing 777-300 jets. However, on its route from Taipei to Seattle (SEA), you’ll enjoy its newer Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, featuring the airline’s best business class product. Plus, you’ll find the Boeing 787-9 on the Dallas route, including fourth-gen premium economy.

Hot Tip:

EVA Air is a great option to consider when planning a trip from the U.S. to Taiwan, and you can redeem points instead of paying cash for business class, too!

Final Thoughts

From October, EVA Air will operate 2 nonstop routes from Texas to Taipei, Taiwan. With the addition of Dallas, the carrier is slowly but surely expanding its U.S. route network.

Here’s to the route’s success and even more nonstop EVA flights to Taiwan from the U.S. in the future.
