Israel is a destination where flights are almost always expensive. This is true for economy, let alone business class. However, thanks to Icelandair, you can purchase fares in business class from the U.S. to Tel Aviv for just $1,867 roundtrip.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know.

Deal Alert — Details

Icelandair is one of the last airlines operating transatlantic flights that don’t feature a lie-flat seat. However, its business class product is still decent and resembles something you’d find on a domestic first class flight.

  • Class: Business
  • Routes: New York, (JFK), Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Orlando (MCO), Seattle (SEA), Denver (DEN) to Tel Aviv (TLV)
  • Dates: August to October 2023
  • Rates: As low as $1,867 round-trip

The absolute lowest rates we found were from New York (JFK) to Tel Aviv (TLV), though depending on when you’re traveling you may have a hefty layover.

It’s also possible to find discounted fares on other Icelandair-operated flights, including this one from Boston (BOS).

And although it’s pricier from the West Coast, the fact that you can buy round-trip tickets from destinations such as Seattle (SEA) for less than $3,000 all-in is awesome.

Best Ways To Book

The absolute cheapest rates for these flights are going to be found with an online travel agency (OTA) such as Priceline or Expedia. However, be aware that these agencies feature fewer legal protections than when you book directly with the airline. Still, if this is something you’re interested in, be sure to pay for your flight with a card that’ll reward you for your spending. The Chase Sapphire Reserve® is good for this since it earns you 3x Ultimate Rewards on all travel purchases.

If you opt instead to book directly with Icelandair, a card such as The Platinum Card® from American Express will be your best bet. This is because it earns 5x Membership Rewards points on flights purchased directly with the airline or through AmexTravel.com (up to $500,000 per year; then 1x points).

Final Thoughts

Israel is a very expensive country to travel to, whether we’re talking about flights or hotels. Fortunately, this fare sale from Icelandair will allow travelers to get from the U.S. to Tel Aviv in business class for less than $1,900 round-trip. If Israel is on your radar, don’t wait to book!
