Fetch is an app and browser extension that provides you with rewards when you shop with its retail partners after clicking through its platform, or even when you upload your receipts after shopping in person.

The service is similar to Rakuten, and like Rakuten, Fetch is launching a co-branded credit card of its own, the Fetch American Express® Card, that is set to release this fall, though the waitlist is open now. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming card.

Fetch Card Details

Starting with the rewards, here is how you’ll earn points for your purchases using the Fetch card.

  • 10x Fetch Points on grocery and retail purchases
  • 5x Fetch Points on all other purchases

Of course, these rewards are in addition to the rewards you would normally earn for using the Fetch app/browser as you have been, and your rewards can be redeemed for free gift cards to popular brands, retailers, restaurants, and more.

The card will also offer other benefits, such as boosted rewards through the Fetch “Spin and Win” bonus points. Each time you make a purchase with the card, you can earn up to 1,200 bonus points per transaction.

Fetch also states that cardholders will have access to cardholder-only offers that vary with specific brands or merchants, access to Amex Offers, and that the card will have no annual fee.

The waitlist for the card is now open here, with the full card launch expected this fall.

Is the Card Worth It?

Unless you’re a Fetch super-user or have trouble getting approved for other rewards cards, this new Fetch card might not be the best choice for you.

For most redemptions, Fetch points are worth about 1/10th of a cent, or 0.001 cents per point. This means that even though you’ll earn 10x points on grocery and retail purchases, and 5x points on all other purchases, that is effectively the same as earning 1% and 0.5% back, respectively. Given that, most consumers would be better off choosing a no-annual-fee card that earns a flat 2% cash-back on all purchases.

Final Thoughts

Fetch has launched the waitlist for its new credit card, with the full card release expected sometime this fall. That said, while you might be a fan of the Fetch rewards program, this card is likely worth skipping for most people.
