Frontier is truly pulling out all the stops to be everyone’s favorite airline.

The latest update that the Denver-based ultra-low-cost airline will offer is an exciting new benefit for Platinum and Diamond elite status members.

“Our Frontier Miles Elite Status members enjoy the most rewarding loyalty program in the sky – and now, our Platinum and Diamond members can share the benefits with a companion on every Frontier flight,” said Bobby Schroeter, chief commercial officer at Frontier.

That’s right: Platinum and Diamond elites will always be able to bring a companion on their Frontier flight for (almost) free!

Here are the details.

Frontier’s Unlimited Free Companion Benefit Explained

We’ve seen several (almost all positive) updates to Frontier‘s business model and passenger experience over the last year, including a complete overhaul of its Frontier Miles loyalty program.

The latest update comes in the form of a new benefit for loyal frequent flyers who’ve earned Platinum and Diamond elite status: The unlimited travel companion.

Surprisingly, the travel companion isn’t restricted to just 1 person. Whether it’s taking your mom to visit grandma or heading to New York for a romantic weekend away, Platinum and Diamond elites will always be able to add a travel companion to their booking going forward.

This could save your lucky travel buddies of choice a ton of money over time. Frontier should have added a clause in the terms and conditions that the travel buddy is obligated to take their elite Frontier flyer friend for dinner to show their gratitude.

The travel companion must have their own Frontier Miles account, and taxes and fees of $5.60 will be charged per flight.

In celebration of this new benefit, Frontier is giving away Platinum status to 100 randomly selected entrants. To be in with a chance to win, you’ll need to enter the competition here before August 31, 2025.

Hot Tip:

Being able to travel with a companion for free is a compelling reason to consider earning Frontier’s frequent flyer status.

Final Thoughts

Frequent Frontier flyers with Platinum and Diamond status now have another reason to choose Frontier when they’re planning travel — especially with a companion.

Flying low-cost might not be for everyone, but the offer of a free travel companion on every flight is a very interesting play by Frontier.
