Frontier is taking a big leap of faith southwards by adding Colombia to its route network.

The ultra low-cost carrier’s 3 new routes will depart from Orlando (MCO), starting in December.

“We believe there is strong, unmet demand for low-cost travel between Orlando and Colombia, and we look forward to offering affordable flight options between these two magnificent destinations,” said Tyri Squyres, vice president of public and consumer affairs at Frontier.

Here are all the details of Frontier’s latest development.

Frontier Will Touch Down in Colombia In December

As of December, Frontier will connect is main Florida hub at Orlando with Bogotá (BOG), Cartagena (CTG), and Medellín (MDE). While Avianca and LATAM already operate services from Orlando to Bogotá and Medellín, Frontier will be the only airline connecting Orlando and Cartagena on Colombia’s northern coast.

The Denver-based carrier is filling the gap left by Spirit Airlines when it shut down operations in May 2026.

The start date, frequencies, and introductory fares for each of the routes are as follows:

Cartagena (CTG)

Medellín (MDE)

Given the large Colombian diaspora in Florida, Frontier thinks it’s high time the carrier’s low fares were introduced to the market. The routes will also provide new options for Colombians wishing to visit the theme parks of Orlando.

Each of the 3 routes will be operated by Frontier’s fleet of Airbus A320-family aircraft, most of which feature the airline’s new first class seats.

Tickets on the new routes are available to book now only via Frontier’s website. The promotional introductory fares starting at $99 one-way must be booked before September 16, 2026, and are available on select days of the week for travel from January 14 to April 5, 2027. The only blackout dates cover the peak Spring Break travel period from March 23 to 30.

Hot Tip:

If you’re a frequent Frontier flyer, the airline’s co-branded credit card could be a valuable addition to your wallet. It comes with perks like bonus miles on spending, 2 free checked bags on every Frontier flight, zone 2 boarding, and more.

Final Thoughts

This move by Frontier fills the gap in the market left by Spirit and reintroduces low-cost fares between Orlando and Colombia. If successful, this could be the start of a new era of South American travel for Frontier and its passengers.
