Google Flights is making it easier than ever to uncover airfare bargains with its new AI-powered Flight Deals tool.

Instead of endlessly playing with dates and destinations, you can tell Google what kind of trip you want, and it’ll find the best deals for you.

Here’s what you need to know about “Flight Deals,” Google’s latest tool.

How Google’s Flight Deals Work

Google is rolling out its new “Flight Deals” feature in beta, giving travelers in the U.S., Canada, and India early access over the next week.

Not everyone will see it right away, but once it’s fully available, there’s no sign-up or waitlist. You can access it directly from the Flight Deals page or the top-left menu on Google Flights.

Here’s how it works: Flight Deals uses Google’s AI to interpret plain-language searches like “week-long trip this winter to a city with great food, nonstop only” or “10-day ski trip to a world-class resort with fresh powder.” It then scans hundreds of airlines and booking sites to find real-time prices that fit your request.

Google says the Flight Deals tool will continue to improve over time. Elsewhere, the tech giant plans to add add a permanent option to exclude basic economy fares for trips in the U.S. and Canada.

Google Flights has a track record of adding new features to help travelers find cheaper flights — like the “best versus cheapest” tags, multi-airport round-trip options, and an automatic flight price guarantee — so it’s no surprise the company is rolling out Flight Deals.

This new AI-powered feature takes things a step further, letting you describe the trip you want in your own words — and then showing deals you might not have discovered on your own.

Hot Tip:

Once Flight Deals is widely available, you can make the most of it by being specific yet flexible in your searches. Include your ideal trip length, interests, and preferences — like nonstop flights or outdoor activities — and let it work to potentially discover a deal to a city you weren’t considering.

Final Thoughts

Flight Deals sounds like one of the most intriguing updates Google Flights has rolled out in years. The idea of simply describing the trip you want and letting the tool show you affordable — and sometimes unexpected results — is appealing.

Once it’s out of beta and widely available, you’ll be able to try it out and discover just how many hidden deals it can find for you.
