Hilton has incorporated additional Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) properties into the Hilton Honors program. Now, there are over 400 participating properties at which you can earn or redeem Hilton Honors points and enjoy select elite benefits.

Hilton also updated the breakfast perk at these properties, which some elite guests may see as a negative change.

Here’s a look at the latest developments in the Hilton-SLH partnership.

Hilton Adds More SLH Properties to Its Collection

Hilton Honors has added a few more properties to its partnership with Small Luxury Hotels, bringing the total to more than 400 participating hotels and resorts. Not all SLH properties participate — and some may never — though Hilton executives told us earlier this year the goal was for as many SLH properties as possible to choose to participate.

It’s now possible to earn and redeem Hilton Honors points at these additional properties — as you can with all other participating SLH locations. As these are luxury hotel properties, they aren’t cheap. Plus, Hilton recently raised the points cost at some of the best SLH properties.

Newly participating properties include Debaines Hotel Santiago in Chile, Narutis Hotel in Lithuania, Brij Lakshman Sagar and Mary Budden Estate in India, Lindos Blu in Greece, The Plein Hotel in Italy, Park Lane Copenhagen in Denmark, Severins The Alpine Retreat in Austria, MUU Bangkok Hotel in Thailand, Hotel on Rivington in New York, and Carneros Resort and Spa in California.

Update to SLH Breakfast Benefit for Hilton Elites

Hilton recently updated the benefits page for its SLH partnership. A small change for Gold and Diamond elite members happened when Hilton added the word “continental” to the breakfast benefit.

In practice, many hotels were already providing a continental breakfast, but some provided a more robust breakfast perk, including hot dishes. Now, this benefit is clarified. The chance of a better breakfast has gone down, as the benefit terms only require the hotel to offer you (and a guest) a complimentary continental breakfast each morning of your stay.

Bottom Line:

Getting Hilton elite status is pretty easy, and it can help elevate your next stay. It could be as simple as holding a Hilton credit card.

Final Thoughts

Hilton has incorporated a handful of additional Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties, pushing the total to more than 400 participating SLH locations in the Hilton Honors program. You can earn and redeem points on these reservations and enjoy some elite perks during your stay. There have been some negative changes recently — such as the limitation on the breakfast perk and price increases at a few properties — but the partnership shows signs of continued growth.
