Hilton has opened its first Curio Collection hotel in one of the most visited places in the U.S.: San Francisco, California.

Here’s what you should know.

Hilton’s Curio Collection Brand Debuts in San Francisco

The Timbri Hotel San Francisco, Curio Collection by Hilton, is now welcoming guests to the Bay Area. Surprisingly, this is Hilton’s first Curio Collection-branded hotel in the popular tourist destination of San Francisco.

The 12-story, 236-room Hilton boasts several bars, including a rooftop bar and terrace, 4 diverse dining options, including a fast-casual coffee shop, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

Guest rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic city views, big soaking tubs, double-panel windows, and modern amenities such as minibars filled with local favorites, as well as high-speed Wi-Fi.

Timbri Hotel San Francisco is located in San Francisco’s Mid-Market neighborhood, within the city’s theater district and a short walk from the bustling neighborhoods of Union Square and SoMa.

If you’re not familiar, Curio Collection is one of Hilton’s higher-end brands that focuses on unique experiences through local products, premium dining and beverage selections, and amenities.

Bottom Line:

Timbri Hotel San Francisco marks the inaugural Curio Collection hotel in San Francisco, yet the brand itself is well-established and recognized. You’ll find nearly 140 Curio Collection hotels across the globe in prime destinations such as New York, Santorini, and Sydney.

Booking Timbri Hotel San Francisco With Hilton Honors Points

Timbri Hotel San Francisco, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is now open for reservations. The hotel is part of the Hilton Honors program, allowing you to earn and redeem Hilton Honors points during your stay.

Hilton Honors eliminated the use of an award chart several years ago. Instead, it adopted variable award pricing. The price you pay on award nights may vary, being either lower or higher based on demand.

Looking at rates for January and February 2025, we see the price ranging from 50,000 to 60,000 Hilton Honors points per night for a standard room.

Cash rates appear to be reasonable for an upscale hotel in an expensive city like San Francisco, with rates beginning around $180 per night, including taxes and fees.

As a result, it may be best to save your points and utilize one of your favorite travel credit cards or a Hilton co-branded card to pay for your stay in cash. Additionally, you can transfer points from American Express, ride with Lyft, or dine out.

Final Thoughts

The Curio Collection brand by Hilton has officially launched in the lively city of San Francisco, introducing the Timbri Hotel San Francisco, Curio Collection by Hilton, as its inaugural property.

In a city brimming with hotel options and attracting millions of visitors, it’s somewhat surprising that this is the inaugural Curio property in the area. This is a valuable addition to the Bay Area hotel market, especially considering the hotel offers relatively affordable points and cash rates.
