Great news for Peloton riders who have upcoming stays at Hilton properties outside beyond the continental U.S.: The Hilton and Peloton partnership is expanding toPuerto Rico, Canada, Germany, and the U.K.
Last year, the companies announced that nearly all of the 5,400 Hilton-branded hotels in the U.S. will have at least 1 Peloton bike in their fitness center. Apparently, that initiative was successful enough to expand the program.
Travelers have been prioritizing wellness activities while on the road. As Peloton bikes exploded in popularity over the past few years, this partnership has been a nice fit.
Let’s take a look at all the details!
What Is Peloton?
For those unfamiliar, Peloton is a fitness company that exploded in popularity during the pandemic thanks to its uber-popular (and expensive) in-home spinning bike.
The connected bike with a built-in TV monitor starts at $1,445, but can jump up to almost $2,000 with upgrades — not to mention, the $44 Peloton All-Access Membership that’s billed monthly.
The membership provides access to unlimited fitness content — both live and on-demand — which syncs with the bike.
With this partnership, Hilton and Peloton are offering bikes in addition to class access, so this is certainly a premium amenity.
Peloton also offers a treadmill, a rowing machine, an app, apparel, and more. But this partnership is focused on its signature spinning bikes — for now.
Hilton and Peloton Expand Partnership to International Markets
In October 2022, Hilton and Peloton announced an “industry-first partnership” to enhance wellness on the road by equipping Hilton’s entire U.S. portfolio of 18 brands with Peloton Bikes.
All brands, from Hampton by Hilton to Waldorf Astoria, now feature at least 1 Peloton bike in the property’s fitness center, giving guests access to Peloton’s instructors and expansive library of fitness content.
That footprint is now expanding to Puerto Rico, Canada, Germany, and the U.K. Guests in these locations should see bikes in fitness centers by summer 2023.
“We know that wellness is a top priority for travelers around the world and many want to take their routines with them while traveling. We have already delighted so many guests with Peloton Bikes in our fitness centers at hotels across the U.S. and are excited to expand upon our partnership to these new markets,” said Amanda Al-Masri, Vice President of Wellness at Hilton. “Whether they are seasoned Members of the Peloton community or first-time riders, we are proud to provide guests with a holistic experience that meets them where they are in their own personal wellness journey.”
According to a recent Hilton guest survey, nearly 47% of travelers plan to prioritize physical wellness and accessibility to fitness amenities or activities in 2023.
Most Peloton riders said they would be more likely to stay at hotels where Peloton bikes were available. So, this partnership makes sense on both sides.
Free Peloton App Trial
On top of this exciting news, first time users of Peloton users and Hilton Honors members in Canada, Germany, or the U.K. can receive a 90-day trial subscription to the Peloton App.
The app offers thousands of live and on-demand classes that do not require the Peloton bike. From strength training to meditation and stretching classes, the app alone is a great perk for Hilton Honors members.
Members also can receive preferred pricing on select Peloton-connected fitness products.
This partnership appears to be proving valuable for both Hilton and Peloton and is a nice perk for guests too.
However, Peloton bikes do require regular maintenance. Hopefully, a maintenance and software update plan will be in place. Otherwise, this may turn into a pain point for many active riders.
For now, though, this is great news for guests traveling in or out of the U.S. Not to mention, the Peloton App has a ton of great wellness content!
