Hilton is expanding its footprint in Hawai‘i with plans for a new Curio Collection property on Kaua‘i — the lifestyle brand’s first hotel in the state.

While travelers will have to wait a bit before booking a stay, the property is expected to debut in late 2026 and promises a design and experience deeply rooted in Kaua‘i’s natural beauty.

Here’s what to know about this upcoming Curio property.

Inside the 210-Room Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i, Curio Collection by Hilton

Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i, Curio Collection by Hilton is expected to open in November 2026 on the island of Kaua‘i and will become the first Curio Collection property in Hawai‘i.

The newly built 210-room hotel will be located within the Hōkūala Resort community near Lihue Airport (LIH), making it a convenient base for exploring the island. Guests will have relatively quick access to popular areas across Kaua‘i, including Princeville, Poʻipū, Waimea Canyon, and Wailua Falls.

The property will overlook the ocean and Haʻupu Mountain and is being designed to highlight the island’s natural surroundings. Planned amenities include a signature restaurant overlooking the tropical lagoon and the Ocean Course at Hōkūala — a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course — along with an outdoor pool, fitness center, and roughly 2,000 square feet of indoor meeting space. An additional 10,000 square feet of outdoor event space is planned for weddings and gatherings.

Guests will also be within walking distance of Kalapaki Beach, known for its calm and swimmable waters.

“Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi reflects our vision to create a hotel that is deeply connected to its surroundings and community,” said Edward Mace, president and CEO, Silverwest Hotels. “We look forward to welcoming guests to a property that offers a meaningful sense of place while delivering an elevated and authentic Kauaʻi experience.”

How To Book a Hilton Stay in Kaua‘i With Points

Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i is expected to participate in the Hilton Honors loyalty program once it opens, meaning travelers will be able to earn and redeem Hilton Honors points for stays. However, since the property isn’t scheduled to open until late 2026, it’s not yet available for booking on Hilton’s website.

If you’re planning a trip to Kaua‘i before then, there are limited Hilton options on the island.

The Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay typically starts at around 60,000 Hilton Honors points per night, while the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa — which is part of Hyatt, not Hilton — is often the primary points alternative travelers consider on the island.

Like most Hilton properties, award pricing at Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i will be dynamic, rather than tied to a fixed chart. That means the number of points required can vary depending on demand, cash prices, and travel dates.

Earning Hilton Honors points is fairly straightforward. Travelers can build their balances through Hilton’s co-branded credit cards, transfers from American Express Membership Rewards, or by earning points through Hilton’s dining and rideshare partnerships.

Hot Tip:

If you plan to book a Hilton stay with points, consider holding a Hilton Honors co-branded credit card like the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card or Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card. Each offers automatic elite status and ways to earn free night certificates that can significantly reduce the cost of a stay in expensive destinations like Hawai‘i.

Final Thoughts

Hilton’s upcoming Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i will mark the first Curio Collection property in Hawai‘i. Once it opens in late 2026, travelers will finally have a more upscale Hilton option on Kaua‘i — something the Garden Isle has largely lacked until now.
