Hilton has introduced the Tempo brand, with the first location debuting in New York’s Times Square.

Let’s take a look at this new hotel and how you can book a stay with points!

Tempo by Hilton Times Square has just opened at TSX Broadway, a new 46-story tower in the heart of Times Square. The Tempo will occupy 36 stories and feature 661 rooms and suites, including 70 ADA-accessible rooms. All rooms will feature a 65-inch TV and a mini fridge.

Additionally, the hotel will feature 31 “Ball Drop” rooms with views of the Times Square Ball drop on New Year’s Eve, including a nearly 1,400 square foot presidential suite.

Amenities include a grab-and-go station, a cocktail lounge with an outdoor terrace, a fitness center featuring Peloton bikes, and views of Times Square.

“Tempo by Hilton speaks to how we innovate our brands at Hilton each and every day,” said Matt Schuyler, chief brand officer at Hilton. With incredible entertainment and retail spaces from TSX Broadway and an immersion in the heart and culture of Times Square, this hotel truly serves as a destination unto itself.”

Tempo is a new lifestyle brand under Hilton’s umbrella. The Tempo by Hilton Times Square marks the brand’s debut, though Hilton has 25 additional properties in development.

Booking Tempo by Hilton Times Square With Points

The Tempo by Hilton Times Square is now open for guests. The hotel is participating in the Hilton Honors program, which means you’ll be able to earn and redeem points during your stay.

Like several major hotel chains, the Hilton Honors program no longer uses an award chart in favor of variable award pricing. This means award nights can be cheaper or more expensive, depending on when you travel.

However, if you want to be in the heart of the action, you’ll pay a pretty penny in points. Award stays start at 90,000 points per night for a standard room this fall and winter.

Luckily, Hilton Honors points are among the easiest hotel points you can earn. Hilton offers several co-branded credit cards, all of which have generous welcome bonuses. And members can transfer points from American Express, ride with Lyft, or dine out.

Final Thoughts

This is exciting news from Hilton, especially for travelers with another points option in Times Square. While award nights aren’t the cheapest, it’s worth using your points if you want to be close to everything Midtown Manhattan offers. If you want to see the Times Square Ball drop on New Year’s Eve in New York City, make your reservations well in advance.
