Hilton has announced that it would open its first hotels in the Balkan nation of Bosnia & Herzegovina, marking its debut in the country by 2026.

Let’s take a look at this exciting news!

Both Hotels To Have Nearly 200 Rooms

Hilton is opening 2 properties in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Hotel Neretva Mostar, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and Hampton by Hilton Sarajevo City Centre, in the cities of Mostar and Sarajevo.

The Hotel Neretva Mostar, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will have 80 guest rooms, several dining options, a lobby bar and lounge, and a meeting space with 3 individual rooms. Other amenities include an indoor pool and fitness facilities.

Hampton by Hilton Sarajevo City Centre will have 98 guest rooms and include a bar, outdoor rooftop terrace and meeting room pods, and fitness facilities.

Both hotels are expected to open by 2026, but there’s no word just yet on the exact opening dates.

Hilton called the entry into Bosnia & Herzegovina a “significant milestone” that highlighted the chain’s expansion into “exciting destinations.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with Intersped d.o.o. Sarajevo to announce Hilton’s first two hotels in Bosnia and Herzegovina under our Tapestry Collection by Hilton and Hampton by Hilton brands,” Simon Vincent, executive vice president and president of EMEA at Hilton, said.

How to Book With Points

Hilton says both hotels will participate in the Hilton Honors loyalty program, which means you’ll be able to earn and redeem points on your stay.

While we wait for the hotels in Bosnia & Herzegovina to open in the coming years, make sure to take a look at Hilton’s other properties in the region. Hilton has a handful of hotels in the Balkans, including Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia. You’ll find some high-end properties, such as Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik and Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort & Spa.

Hilton’s program uses variable award pricing, which can result in cheaper or more expensive rates depending on when you travel. For instance, rates at the Hilton Rijeka can range from 70,000 points per night up to a whopping 323,000 points per night for dates in June 2023.

Still, Hilton Honors loyalty program makes it easy for members to earn points. In addition to several co-branded credit cards offering sizable welcome bonuses, members can transfer points from American Express, ride with Lyft, or dine out.
