IHG announced on August 23, 2023, that it had opened its third Hotel Indigo property in Australia.

Let’s take a look at this new hotel and how you can book!

IHG’s Third Hotel Indigo Property in Australia

Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders has 216 rooms, all featuring work desks and city views.

The hotel has several amenities — but you’ll have to wait to use some of them. A fitness center will open this October, while the event and meeting spaces will be completed in early 2024. A restaurant, BESO, will serve twists on traditional Spanish tapas.

“We are thrilled that the first Hotel Indigo property will launch in Victoria. It’s an exciting time for the brand as it continues to grow in Australasia and across the globe as one of the world’s leading boutique lifestyle brands,” said Matt Tripolone, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts – Australasia & Pacific.

Bottom Line:

Hotel Indigo is an IHG brand that draws inspiration from the local neighborhood, culture, and popular trends in food, drink, and design. You’ll find 143 open hotels and 128 in the pipeline worldwide.

Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders joins 2 other properties in Australia, including Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre and Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets. Another property, Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point, is expected to open by the end of the year.

Booking Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders

Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders is now open for guests. The hotel is participating in the IHG One Rewards program, which means you can earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points.

Award nights are moderately priced, starting at around 26,000 points per night for dates this fall.

It’s relatively simple to earn IHG One Rewards points. The hotel chain offers 3 credit cards — 2 personal and 1 business — all issued by Chase. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

Even if you don’t have an eligible credit card, there are several ways to earn IHG One Points. You can earn points for dining out when enrolling in the IHG One Rewards Dining program, using IHG Business Rewards and earning points for hosting qualifying events, or purchasing IHG One Rewards points.

Final Thoughts

Travelers visiting Melbourne now have another affordable points hotel option — the Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders. With award rates under 30,000 points per night, this hotel will undoubtedly become a sweet spot for travelers to Australia!
