IHG is expanding its presence in the Midwest with the opening of a new Hotel Indigo property in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Let’s take a look at the new hotel!
First Hotel Indigo Property Opens in Minneapolis
IHG has announced the opening of Hotel Indigo Minneapolis Downtown. The hotel has 218 rooms, some offering premium views of the city.
Amenities include a fitness center, business center, gift shop, dry cleaning pickup, and laundry valet services. The hotel has 1 restaurant on-site, the Star Bar and Bistro, which serves up American cuisine with French influences. The hotel is conveniently located near Minneapolis Metro Light Rail downtown stations, which offer seamless connections to Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), Mall of America, and other popular attractions.
With this new opening, IHG has around 2 dozen hotels in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, which is one of the largest in the Midwest.
“Minneapolis has been beckoning visitors for decades with its community of vibrant music, entertainment, and culinary scenes, all of which have been thoughtfully woven into the experience at Hotel Indigo Minneapolis Downtown,” said Carol Hoeller, Vice President of Hotel Indigo.
IHG says the Hotel Indigo brand “has experienced strong global growth momentum over the last year.” There are nearly 150 Hotel Indigo properties open worldwide, with recent openings including Exeter in the United Kingdom, Guadalajara in Mexico, Tokyo, and Vancouver in Washington State. Another 127 are in the pipeline, the chain says.
How To Book
Hotel Indigo Minneapolis Downtown will participate in the IHG One Rewards program, which means guests can earn and redeem points at the property.
Award rates are pretty reasonable, with 1-night stays starting at 30,000 points per night for dates in mid-July.
Minneapolis is a popular travel destination for those who live in the Midwest and further afield, so it makes sense that IHG would debut one of its premium brands in the city. With relatively reasonable award and cash rates, IHG loyalists now have a new option for stays in Minnesota’s largest city!
